Greetings from the West Texas Chapter Of Jingoistic Conservative Vast Right Wing Conspiratorial Fossil Fuel Burning Four Wheel Drive Truck Owners.

ACCURACY:

I know that we all say things which are not entirely accurate but most of the time when we say them we do believe the statements to be not only truthful but also accurate in their content.

So with this in mind I have somewhat of a problem when television so called News Programs or News Analysis Programs which are listened to and viewed by multiple millions of persons during peak hours, do not even approach being accurate in their presentation. Of course most of us have decided a number of years back that the mainstream media (television, radio, newspapers, and magazines) have not been troubled with concerns over accuracy.

I am sure that all of you are with me in feeling great sadness for the victims and the families and friends of the victims of the recent shootings in Connecticut and of course we all hope and pray that such a tragedy will never happen again. But I believe we are smart enough to know that at some point in the future this act will be repeated.

I am not completely sure at this moment just exactly how many are dead as a result of this mass murder. Also, thanks to the various media outlets, I am not completely sure what types of weapons were used in this attack on school children and teachers. Here are a few discrepancies from the less than accurate reporting on this incident:

1) From FOX News (TV) and several radio stations came the early reports that the shooter at this elementary school had used two HANDGUNS to kill the students and teachers.

2) Later in the day we were told that the MOTHER and the FATHER of the shooter had BOTH BEEN MURDERED.

3) Later on in the same day we were told that the BROTHER of the shooter was ALSO INVOLVED IN THE INCIDENT.

4) Still later in the day we were told that an AR-15 BUSHMASTER HAD BEEN FOUND IN THE SHOOTER'S VEHICLE AT THE SCHOOL.

5) Then within a couple of days we were told that the AR-15 BUSHMASTER WAS THE MURDER WEAPON.

6) Then we were told that the SHOOTER was ARMED WITH AN AK-15 ASSAULT RIFLE

7) Then we were led to believe that CONNECTICUT was ONE OF THE EASIEST STATES IN WHICH TO PURCHASE A FIREARM.

Now this is by no means all of the stories we were told to be the absolute facts in this terrible incident and at this present time, since the whole school is still considered a crime scene and the police are not nearly through with their investigation so how could the real facts be positively presented BY ANYONE OR ANY MEDIA OUTLET?

I do believe, from reports this morning from government officials that CONNECTICUT AT PRESENT HAS THE FIFTH MOST STRICT LAWS REGULATING THE PURCHASE OF FIREARMS IN THE UNITED STATES.

I also believe that BILL O'REILLY is still more interested in pushing his books than he is in presenting accurate facts. Mr. O'Reilly stated that he felt that he had a really good insight into this type of incident based upon HIS RESEARCH FOR HIS BEST SELLING BOOK, "KILLING KENNEDY". Now while I am sure that he indeed did some research in writing this book, the assassination of John F. Kennedy bore little resemblance to the Connecticut Mass Murders. Mr. O'Reilly also told us that Connecticut was one of the EASIEST STATES IN WHICH TO PURCHASE FIREARMS. Then Mr. O'Reilly mad the statement that "NO ONE NEEDED TO OWN AN AR-15 ASSAULT RIFLE. Really? What gives Bill O'Reilly or me or the Head Coach of the Pottstown Firebirds or the ACLU or Joe Biden or Nancy Pelosi or Barack Hussein Obama the INSIGHT OR THE RIGHT to dictate to 300,000,000 Americans what the do or do not need. In reality, I probably could do without a four wheel drive pickup, but I like the features of such a vehicle and if I can afford it, it is MY BUSINESS and NOT THAT OF ANY OF THE ABOVE NAMED PEOPLE OR ORGANIZATIONS.

It is wearing pretty damn thin with me when people who have never picked up, much less shot, an AR-15 or other semi-automatic, so called Assault Rifle, suddenly become experts on our NEEDS.

Actually, I don't think that Barack Hussein Obama NEEDS and AIR CONDITIONED AUTOMOBILE. I realize that it is a bit more comfortable with air but does he really NEED IT? But, it is not for me to say.... no more than it is for these gun control worms to be telling me what I do or do not need.

If I choose to own a firearm and you do not, I am not going to try to force you into a firearms purchase. BUT, when Liberals/Moderates/Democrats/Socialists do not want to own one, they try to make sure that we CANNOT OWN ONE EITHER.

I know I got off the subject of accuracy but NONE of these MEDIA OUTLETS has any more real idea about the causes of or the cures for this type of behavior than do any of us.

As a matter of fact, when this shooting first was reported and it was reported that the shooter's mother was a kindergarten teacher at that school and that she had been murdered first, I told my wife the following:

I am going to predict that when all the talking is done and the investigation is complete the following conclusion will be reached:

The shooter and his mother were having some serious problems and at some point in time the shooter decided that his mother thought more of her kindergarten students than she did him so he decided to take her out and then punish those who had stolen his mother away from him.

I will still stick with that prediction. Anyway, I think we should all keep the families and friends of those murdered children and teachers in our prayers and remember those young people with respect, rather than use their tragic deaths for some sensational news story.

HONOR:

I have an 85 year old friend here in San Angelo, who happens to be on our prayer list. This good man lost his wife a couple of years back and lives by himself. He can no longer drive and has to get around his house either by using a walker or a scooter. I try to get by and visit him every week and he does have a son and daughter who live here.

I went by his house the other day to spend some time with him and while his body has given up on him, his mind is still very good. We discussed politics and some other mutual interests along with talking about family and friends. As I was getting up to leave I started to walk over to where he was sitting to shake his hand and he started bringing his walker toward his chair and I could tell that he was going to try to get up to see me to the door. I told him, "Keep your seat, I can let myself out". At which time he struggled to his feet and made this statement, "A FRIEND LIKE YOU DESERVES A STANDING HAND-SHAKE." And with that he rose and took my hand and wished me a Merry Christmas. I thanked him and left before I lost it in front of him.

I can't think of a greater tribute than that good man gave to me by simply standing and shaking my hand. I will not forget this gentleman nor his courage which he has shown all his life. He is retired military and served in both the Korean War and also Vietnam.

And now we have in the U.S. Senate, three liberals who disguise themselves as Independent and Republican. I am referring to the three slugs who are known in the Senate as "THE THREE AMIGOS". I am referring to Senators John McCain; Senator Lindsey Graham; and Senator Joseph Lieberman. I don't think you could melt them all down and find one ounce of conservatism in the whole bunch. Lieberman leans toward the conservative side when it comes to backing Israel but that is about the only thing conservative about any of them.

I have not heard any statements from McCain or Graham regarding the Mass Murders in Connecticut BUT I did hear Lieberman call for the formation of A NATIONAL COMMISSION ON VIOLENCE. He compared this Commission as doing much the same type of keen investigative work as did the NINE-ELEVEN COMMISSION. ENOUGH SAID!

If anyone has been wondering why TIME Magazine is on the Varmint List just refer to their recently announced PERSON OF THE YEAR. Who is it you ask? Why none other than the WORLD'S MOST ARTICULATE AND INTELLIGENT HUMAN, BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA.

I am not sure but I believe that some insane alien force owns Time Magazine. Come to think of it they seem to own MSNBC; NBC; CBS; ABC; CNBC; ESPN; and are making some genuine headway into taking over FOX News.

This week we got a really great offer from a little program backed by our Federal Government. It was an offer to give me 60%-70% of the current value of our home and the home would still be ours and the loan isn't paid back until after our death or we sell our house permanently. OK. Then what happens? Well they don't bother to go into that.

So, pardon me if I do not take advantage of your kind offer which according to this paper was created by the lobbying efforts of AARP. Sure makes me want to jump right in on this deal.

Tomorrow night the real football championships begin. I am referring to the TEXAS HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP GAMES. Both of the Six Man Divisions were played last week along with the 3A-Division 1 Championships. So this means we have 9 - NINE - NUEVO Championships still to be decided. All of these games will be played in Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Just imagine what a thrill that would be to play in that huge stadium as a high school player. This is still the BEST FOOTBALL AVAILABLE. AND, to make matters even better, the final game at 8 PM on Saturday features the 5A Division I Championship between ALLEN and my old high school from Houston, Texas the LAMAR REDSKINS. Not politically correct I know but tough. The last time Lamar High School played in a State Championship game was in 1953 when Lamar beat the Odessa Broncos. You can bet that I will be glued to the TV since ALL of these championship contests will be televised.

Again in parting, let us all keep in our prayers the families and friends of those school children and teachers who were brutally murdered by a psychopath who cared more about himself than he did anyone or anything else.

Let us also remember that our federal government will use this tragedy for their own political gains and purposes. Let us also remember that the STATES CREATED THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT....THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT DID NOT CREATE THE STATES.

I will probably take the Christmas week off so I wish each of you and your families a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS. Let us not forget what Christmas is really about and thank our Creator for his blessings. May GOD BLESS EACH OF YOU.

Greetings once again from A Jingoistic Fed Up Conservative Gun Owning Fossil Fuel Burning Old White Guy

CONFUSED:

I generally see things pretty clear, at least clear enough to half-way understand the reasons behind most occurrences. However, there are a few things which have me a bit confused.

What is really confusing is HOW a state like Michigan can vote and sign into law a Right To Work State Law while just a little over a month ago they voted to re-elect to the position of President of the United States a complete bought and paid for Socialist, Union Organizer who also happens to be the most liberal/Socialist person to have ever held that office?

Along these lines, the Liberals/Democrats/Progressives/Moderates/Socialists BELIEVE in a "Woman's Right To Choose" when dealing with an unborn child BUT are AGAINST a Worker's Right To Choose whether or not he/she is forced to join a Labor Union.

Another thing which gets my backside red as a three ball is hearing reports that many Republican voters DID NOT BOTHER TO VOTE in the Presidential election as they did not feel like they could vote for Mitt Romney. The reason? That Mitt Romney WAS NOT CONSERVATIVE ENOUGH FOR THEM.

How Liberals/Democrats/Progressives/Moderates/Socialists can rant on about how gun ownership leads to high crime, when you look at places like: Chicago; New York; Washington, D.C.; and Los Angeles have some of the highest incidents of violent crime while also having the most strict gun control laws?

How the United States and other so called Democratic Countries can sit still and still remain members of the United Nations who have a rather poor record of solving ANY problems ANYWHERE on the globe? AND, how can the United States Federal Government justify to the American citizens spending billions of dollars in supporting this dysfunctional organization?

SO, to those people who elected to stay home rather than vote for Mitt Romney I should point out that their decision to not vote went a long way toward electing the worst President whom I have seen during my lifetime. Thanks for nothing.

BUT, I would like to thank the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals for declaring as UNCONSTITUTIONAL, the Illinois Conceal Carry Ban Law.

To the Governor of the State of Michigan, thanks for signing into law the law declaring Michigan as a Right To Work State.

AWARD:

I imagine many of you who are football fans tuned in last Saturday evening to watch the Heisman Trophy Award show on ESPN. While being fairly pissed at ESPN and the remainder of the networks who broadcast various sporting events including football, I still wanted to watch this ceremony since among the finalists were the Freshman Quarterback for Texas A & M and the Kansas State Quarterback representing the Big XII Conference and the Notre Dame Linebacker who could have been the ONLY pure defensive player to win the award.

Of course, the award was given to Johnny Manziel, Quarterback from Texas A & M and the ONLY FRESHMAN to have won this annual award.

I was pretty impressed by all three finalists and thought them all to be very intelligent young men of high character. But as you all know, I thought that it was a no contest competition with young Johnny Manziel being the deserving winner going away. Apparently so did the Heisman voters as Manziel won it by a pretty good margin. I was proud of him and his University and his coaches throughout his career. Now it will be interesting to see how he does in years to come.

ADDITIONAL OBSERVATIONS:

I had to add the NFL to the Varmint List this week as it seems as if every time they have been in the news lately it has been over something pretty stupid that the League or some of their Representatives have said or done.

Here is an example. Remember when Monday Night Football started off its game several years back with Hank Williams Junior singing, "ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL?" I can't remember what Hank Jr. did to get the ax but I believe he made some politically incorrect comment and of course ABC and the NFL folded like a cheap tent.

Then the Sunday Night NFL game was preceded by a song sung by Faith Hill, who is a really pretty girl. It is a pretty good introduction and interesting to see how the song lyrics change from week-to-week depending upon which teams are playing. All in all pretty professionally done.

Ah, but then we come to Thursday Night Football on the NFL Channel. The pre-game song is some Hip-Hop crap with that Fat-Ass CEE LO mugging before the cameras. At least the other stuff is fairly well presented but about the only thing presentable would be for CEE LO to be facing a firing squad. If you care to remember, CEE LO was on the Super Bowl Half-Time program with MADONNA. If this guy has talent, then I should be appointed by OBAMA as the U.N. AMBASSADOR.

Anyway, couple all this with the fact that the NFL President is advocating DOING AWAY WITH THE KICK-OFF for NFL games. According to one report I heard, after a touchdown or field goal was scored the opposing team would just start out from their own 20 yard line. What's next? Lets do away with the punt; then we could do away with tackling below the waist; next we could do away with tackling above the waist and just have all players wear two 18" flags on either side; then we could finally just go with two below touch. That should do away with injuries.

And doing away with injuries is the alleged excuse for all of these so called "SAFETY" measures.

BUT what this is really all about, is to try to ban tackle football beginning at the lowest level, whether it be YMCA youth football or Junior High and eventually High School football.

And of course the NFL administration is playing right into their hands.

They are attempting to turn us into a soccer society.

On occasion I believe that Glenn Beck has been attacked by rabid squirrels and is stricken with an attack of lunacy. I was listening to him the other morning and he was talking about the Kennedy family. He correctly said that the father Joseph Kennedy was a "Really Bad Guy". He said that John F. Kennedy was a "Really Bad Guy". He said that Ted Kennedy was a "Really Bad Guy". Correct on all fronts. BUT THEN HE SAID that ROBERT KENNEDY might have been the only "Really Good Guy" out of the family. BOBBY KENNEDY A GOOD GUY? In my opinion he might have been at least as big a MUTT as "Fat Teddy". That is why I believe that some type of rabid animal must have bitten Beck before that statement.

Just talk to some retired F.B.I. Agent and get their opinion of the Kennedys and Martin Luther King and many other so called Civil Rights Leaders.

Earlier today I was watching the Military History Channel and they had back-to-back one hour programs. The first being on the British SAS and the second being on the Israeli Commandos. Both of them were very good and went into the development of the weapons used by these two elite units.

In 1986 or 87 I had the privilege of attending a Hostage Negotiations Seminar at the F.B.I. National Academy in Quantico, VA. Of course, like everything else at the Academy, it was a first rate seminar with some first rate instructors. Also attending this training seminar was a fairly high ranking official with the Metropolitan Police from London. He was a really good guy and had loads of experience in this field. He was present at the 1980, I believe, assault at Princess Gate where Palestinian terrorists had taken hostages at a foreign embassy. The SAS was called in and British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher gave the go-ahead for an SAS assault on the building. If memory serves me correctly only one terrorist escaped the building and this was with the help of one of the hostages who had developed a relationship with the terrorist (Stockholm Syndrome).

The rest of the terrorists were killed all with head shots. The program had an interview with one of the SAS people who gave one account that one terrorist was shot 76 times by several SAS people. The guy at our school told us that one of the first SAS troops entering into the building got caught in a drape which was on fire and while he still had the burning drape wrapped around him he head shot one of the terrorists, then he rid himself of the burning drape. Pretty focused, I'd say.

Also during that two week stay at Quantico we got to watch some of the training done by some F.B.I. Agents who were applying for spots on the F.B.I. Hostage Rescue Team (HRT). These guys were awesome. When you saw one of them, usually in a group, they were ether in the cafeteria at meal time; or pumping iron in the weight room; or running; or participating in training exercises. You could not help but be impressed with these Agents. They were in top physical condition and when they weren't running were pretty friendly with the rest of us.

Anyway, I left Quantico plenty impressed with the whole operation and a whole new respect for the F.B.I.

I read an article earlier in some paper that said that Obama had said that the U.S. RECOGNIZES SYRIA'S MAIN REBEL GROUP. WOW! Is that a load off my mind. One must wonder, however, if Syria's Main Rebel Group, should they be successful in overthrowing the current bunch of vermin in charge of Syria, will be as friendly toward the United States as are the Muslim Brotherhood mutts in charge in Egypt OR the band of Libyan Rebels whom we supported in their revolution? You remember, the Libyan Rebels who KILLED FOUR AMERICANS in the raid on our embassy staff?

Greetings once again from One Thoroughly Disgusted Jingoistic West Texas Firearms Owning True Conservative Believer In The U.S. Constitution.

GUNS:

I have pretty much stopped watching Professional Football for a number of reasons. One of them being the absolutely disrespectful manner in which various artists perform The National Anthem of our country. The second reason is all they hype and then the beyond idiotic half-time entertainment provided at the Super Bowl and other major games. The third reason is the double phony Pro-Bowl game which is thrust upon us at the end (sort of) of the season. BUT, the main reason I have pretty much stopped watching the games (other than the Texans and the Broncos and occasionally the Cowboys) is largely due to the CLOWNS which the various networks have decided to provide in order to give us all a real insight into pro football. What does all this have to do with guns, you ask? Well last Sunday evening had you been tuned in to Sunday Night Football on NBC you might have been exposed to one of the most idiotic assessments of a tragedy that I have ever heard.

BOB COSTAS, a new and now permanent member of the Varmint List, decided to give us all a really objective view on the over reported incident of a MURDER, committed by, and subsequent SUICIDE of a Kansas City Chiefs player, Javon Belcher. For some of you who might have been deer hunting or some other equally brutal pastime or just simply lost in the wilderness, I am referring to Belcher's MURDER of his girlfriend, and mother of his child.

After committing this MURDER, Belcher then went to the Kansas City Chiefs facility where he spoke with his head coach and another Chiefs official and when done committed suicide with the same pistol he had used to commit MURDER.

COSTAS decided as pretty much any Liberal/Progressive/Democrat/Socialist would decide, that the fault should be placed on the firearm rather than the individual. COSTAS made any number of idiotic observations and possibly the most idiotic was this: "If Belcher did not own a gun then both of these people would still be alive." I am paraphrasing the comment by COSTAS. There just might be a few facts in this incident which evidently escaped the keen observation of this Sports Reporter.

The first being that Belcher shot his girlfriend NINE, (9), (IX), NUEVO TIMES. This just might give someone who knows their backside from a jar of peanut butter the idea that Belcher was way beyond angry and had he not had access to a firearm might just have used a knife; a club; a piece of furniture; OR his bare hands. It seems fairly obvious that at that time, Belcher wanted his girlfriend to be Deceased; Be gone from this earth; Absent of life; DEAD!

But the main point is that a half-time opinion by a Sports Reporter was completely out of line. One must wonder if, when COSTAS was a boy growing up if he played:

A. Cowboys and Indians

B. Cops and Robbers

C. Soldier/Marine

D. With Barbee Dolls

I understand that later on, COSTAS appeared on another sports show and attempted to say that his comments were..... now, get ready for this..... TAKEN OUT OF CONTEXT.

Anyway, blaming the firearms for a MURDER, and calling for the ban on or outlawing of any firearm is about like blaming the automobile for deaths in traffic accidents and calling for the immediate seizure by the government of ALL MOTOR VEHICLES.

Incidentally, each year there are significantly more deaths from automobile accidents than by firearms. One of the statistics I saw was 40,000 deaths from auto accidents to about 30,000 from firearms and this included 12,000 from intentional shootings (homicides) the rest were accidental or self-inflicted.

BUT for the record, I am saying that BOB COSTAS had no business making a political statement due to this incident but he did manage to land a permanent spot on the Varmint List. WAY TO GO BOB!!!

VICTIMS:

If you thought you had seen just about enough of VICTIM MENTALITY in the United States, to borrow a line from Jack Nicholson in his role as The Joker in Batman, "Just wait'll you get a load of what's getting ready to happen under this Obama regime."

I was watching a video clip from a City Council Meeting from the City of Detroit, Michigan. One of the apparently incompetent council persons who happened to be a rather heavy set black lady was whining like a hungry puppy about how the City of Detroit had voted for Obama in large numbers and that now they were broke and that it was time for the federal government to bail them out with some federal funds.

I have a few questions:

1) Who is at fault for the pitiful financial shape the City of Detroit finds itself in?

2) Why should the federal government come in and be responsible for bailing them out?

3) Just where in the Hell does this fat squack think that these federal funds will come from?

I can answer all three of these questions:

1) DETROIT AND THE DETROIT CITY GOVERNMENT

2) THEY SHOULDN’T

3) FROM THE REST OF US WHO HAD NO HAND IN CREATING THE PROBLEM

This is just another example of the VICTIM MENTALITY which has become so popular in our country.

Is it the fault of the federal government, or the fault of the State of Texas, or the fault of the State of Ohio, or the fault of the State of West Virginia or the fault of Dorothy, or Toto, or the Scarecrow for the problems of Detroit or the State of California who is evidently in worse financial shape than Detroit?

Now, to return for a moment to the MURDER and Suicide both committed by Kansas City Chief linebacker Javon Belcher. On a number of pre-game football programs I watched any number of clueless sports reporters who had no more insight into the matter than NBC's BOB COSTAS, expounding about how that the Kansas City head Coach Romeo Crennel and the other Kansas City official and Belcher's Kansas City team mates were all VICTIMS of this terrible and tragic incident. They were urging all of us to have empathy for the Chiefs organization as they were ALL VICTIMS. Not a single one of these boobs mentioned the fact that Belcher's girlfriend was MURDERED and that Belcher had committed the MURDER. NO it was all about how almost everyone who was not actually a victim WAS in fact a victim. The real VICTIMS in this case are Belcher's MURDERED GIRLFRIEND and their young baby.

But please spare me all the rhetoric about how we should all view everyone who ever knew Belcher as a VICTIM.

Last week there was the report of the death of former boxing champion Hector "Macho" Camacho. He was taken off life support after suffering a gunshot wound to the head. This occurred in one of the Central American countries. Wonder if BOB COSTAS would like to trot down to Central America (pick a country) and preach to them about gun violence. Sounds like a good assignment to me. Actually, I was never much of a fan of Hector "Macho" Camacho. He was a talented young boxer but a pure hot dog. He was sailing along quite nicely until he fought for the championship against Julio Caesar Chavez. Chavez was also in his prime and beyond bad. He put The Macho Man to sleep and all was right with the world.

Now I realize that opinions are a bit like backsides, everybody has one.

BUT, in my opinion if anyone other than Johnny Manziel wins this award then they need to take the Heisman..... crush it into small pieces and put the pieces into a container .... use it as a door stop.

This kid, while only a freshman has been absolutely unbelievable this year. No one, including me, gave Texas A & M any chance to defeat #1 ranked Alabama ...................... But they did and due to no small effort of young Johnny Manziel. Yeah, I know. They have dubbed him "Johnny Football" but I listened to an interview with Johnny Manziel who when asked about this nickname told the reporter that they were the ones who came up with the name and he actually thought it was funny. So do I.

I suppose what I am trying to say is sort of the same thing Bear Bryant is alleged to have said when he was the football coach at Texas A & M back in the 50's when John David Crow was one of the finalists. It is reported that Bear Bryant said, "If John David don't win it, then they need to melt that sumbitch down".

My thoughts exactly.

Greetings once more from the Primary West Texas Headquarters For Jingoistic Four Wheel Drive Fossil Fuel Burning Vehicles With Gun Racks And Off Road Tires.

FLEXIBILITY:

Here is a list of definitions from Webster's New world Dictionary for the word FLEXIBILITY:

1) Able to bend without breaking
2) Pliant
3) Adjustable to change
4) Easily influenced

I think most of us can buy pretty much all of those definitions and can apply each meaning in everyday circumstances.

HOWEVER, Republican Politicians have given a whole new slant on this word. I am speaking particularly of Republican Senators John McCain (AZ) and Lindsey Graham (SC). Both of these U.S. Republican Senators upon hearing of the possibility of Barack Hussein Obama making an appointment of U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice to the position of Secretary Of State came out with strong opposition to this appointment and both vowed to block this appointment. For a couple of days I was worried due to the fact that both of these varmints appeared about to do the right thing and even more surprising were going to do something with which I agreed.

Then a few days later I read an article and heard a couple of reports on the radio that both McCain and Graham were changing their views on their initial stance and could possibly be persuaded to back Rice's appointment. This did not surprise me in the least as I don't have much faith....no, let me make that ANY faith in anything either of these two mutts say.

But in good McCain/Graham fashion after a private meeting with Rice both of these two towers of strength are back to their original position of attempting to block Rice's appointment. But I am not the least bit concerned as these two Paragons of Flexibility will probably change their position on this matter several more times. But regardless of what they finally do, they are both a pair of phonies who need to be replaced in the U.S. Senate.

Now here is a little observation which should give professional politicians from BOTH POLITICAL PARTIES to exhibit their powers of FLEXIBILITY.

We all know that Barack Hussein Obama with plenty of backing from Democrat/Progressive/Moderate/Socialist HACKS, is in favor of "Allowing the Bush Tax Cuts to expire". And in addition, the world's most articulate and intelligent human has PROMISED US ALL that ONLY those Americans making over $250,000 per year would see any tax rate increases. (Of course we all know this is pure bovine excrement or bullshit for those of you residing in the People's Republic of San Francisco) Ah, but our valiant so called CONSERVATIVE Republican professional politicians tell us that they are NOT ever going to go for ANY INCREASE IN INCOME TAXES FOR ANYONE.

Then when we start listening to these elected professional politicians, we learn that while the Republican politicians will not go for an increase in tax rates for anyone, they have come up with some really creative plans which will leave the rates as they are now, or possibly reduce the rates in some areas. But when we really listen closely to these vermin we hear them say that they would go for "Closing Some Of The Loopholes" in the tax code. One of these so called "Loopholes" I have heard mentioned is the deduction for HOME INTEREST. BOY! That home interest is sure some loophole. It seems to me that the Home Interest deduction has been around for a good while and I personally never viewed it as a Loophole.

But in the long run, whether the Democrats/Progressives/Socialists get their way OR the Mainstream Republicans/Moderates get their way, WE ARE ALL GOING TO SEE AN INCREASE IN OUR FEDERAL INCOME TAXES.

SO, for my money the longer we go on, the closer the Democrat/Progressive/Socialist Party and the Mainstream Republican/Moderate Party seem to be in almost every single issue.

And before I forget it, the weaker and more FLEXIBLE Republican House Speaker John Boehner is appearing. I have never been a big fan of Boehner and the closer I look at him, the less use I have for him.

So, FLEXIBILITY, COMPROMISE, and CONSENSUS are becoming identical in their use and meaning. So forget what is right or wrong and just go with what appears to be the easy way out.

MISCELLANEOUS:

I have about had enough of the views of WARREN BUFFETT. I heard one report a few days ago that Warren Buffett, who doesn't believe he pays enough income tax, has a total worth of $44,000,000,000 (For those of you living in the Freedom Loving Worker's Province of Detroit, that would be FORTY BILLION DOLLARS). The report said that if the Federal Government were to seize ALL of Warren Buffett's wealth that it would pay for operation of the Federal Government for FOUR DAYS.

I also heard with great glee that Illinois Congressman Jesse Jackson Jr. had resigned his post for so called "HEALTH" reasons. I am sure that Jesse Jr. being under suspicion and one report said indictment for Misuse of Campaign Contributions, had nothing to do with the resignation. Wonder when he is set for trial? I am sure that Attorney General Eric Holder will not rest until Jackson Jr. is behind bars.

While I do agree with Glenn Beck on some issues, I think he gets a bit carried away on occasion, particularly on his morning radio show. I tune in to his show for a few minutes during one of my morning runs and last week I was listening to him and Beck made a statement that he refused to watch the annually shown movie "A Christmas Story" due to the fact that the message the movie sent was one which showed what a loser the father was in the story. Funny, but since I was a kid during those years and went through almost every single trial experienced by Ralphie and his friends in that movie, I find it a nice story. I also had to face the classical "Mom's Block" when I wanted a Daisy Red Ryder BB Gun. That age old block was, "You'll shoot your eye out." Of course, like Ralphie in the story I listened to "Little Orphan Annie" and additionally "The Green Hornet"; "The Lone Ranger"; "Sky King"; "Smilin' Ed's Gang"; "Superman" and many other adventure radio programs and lived my life around those afternoon and Saturday morning shows. I found "A Christmas Story" was not really trying to send any great message of social significance but only one of entertainment value for many of us in our 70's. I was a bit surprised and disappointed with Beck's views on this movie and if this is an example of his powers of deduction, then I probably will not bother listening to him again. Everything is not a Communist Plot. And keep in mind that at every possible opportunity, Beck continues to remind us of what a real tower of honesty and integrity certain deceased civil rights leaders were. Just talk to some retired F.B.I. Agents who were involved closely in the investigation of many of these leaders and their organizations.

OK. Here's a surprise. "France To Recognize Palestinian State". Apparently the timing of this announcement was aimed at swaying other European nations. The vote in the U.N. is said to be coming up this week. One must wonder if perhaps Hamas threatened France. Perhaps Hamas told the French Government that if they did not support a Palestinian State that they would tell the Germans. But I could be wrong. Anyway, why should any of us depend on France to do what is right?

An article in this morning's (Sub) Standard Times informed us that Yasser Arafat's grave was dug up for a probe into the cause of his death. Gosh! You don't suppose he was assassinated do you? I sure couldn't live with that thought.

What really puzzles me is why he was allowed to exist as long as he did? I am convinced that the Israelis kept him alive. As long as he was the leader of the Palestinians, the Israelis could do pretty much as they pleased and no one really gave a damn. That is the kind of opposition leader you want. One that the world hates.

Over the Thanksgiving week end my wife and I took two South Korean students to the San Marcos Outlet Shopping Malls. The ladies shopped while I searched for parking places and pretty much stayed with my truck and read and listened to football games. They all had a big time and we did eat rather well at local restaurants. Finding a parking place at those malls was like herding cats. Every single pedestrian in the mall had their heads squarely up their backsides and I am pretty well convinced that I was the only driver in the area with a valid license. I believe that negotiating around the San Marcos Malls on Black Friday and even Blacker Saturday would be excellent training for Navy SEALs.

Last Sunday while in a checkout line at a local super market I was behind a woman who spoke very little English. She purchased several items and had what appeared to be one of those cards they issue now instead of food stamps. I can't remember what name they are called. But she swiped the card through the machine. The clerk had her do it again. Now I have never used one of those cards but I imagine they are like a regular credit or debit card in the fact that the magnetic strip MUST be on the bottom for the machine to read it. I also believe that it must be facing a certain direction to be read. Anyway, this woman didn't have a clue so the clerk came around and swiped the card for her.

Then came the hard part. She had to ENTER her 4 digit PIN Number. She was able to enter the 4 numbers but pressing the ENTER button escaped her. So this nice young lady clerk came around again and had her do it again and point out that she also had to hit ENTER. OK, this was finally accomplished. Then I saw something I had never witnessed. The clerk asked the woman if she wanted any CASH BACK which they lady wanted $20 and acted surprised about it. She got her $20 and then got her groceries and left.

A) I did not know you could get cash back on one of those cards.
B) I have watched people buy a bunch of stuff on those cards and leave out one door then re-bag a bunch of stuff and take it back in another door and redeem cash.

Once again, I did not get a close look at this card but if this is the norm, then it is small wonder that the Federal Government (TAXPAYERS) are getting ripped off due to mismanagement of this program. But it is like most other government programs in the fact that it is designed by incompetents and policed by incompetents.

Last night I was watching one of my all time favorite Western Movies: "The Outlaw Josey Wales". I have seen this movie a bunch of times and still enjoy watching it. Of course, Chief Dan George steals the show just as he does in every role in which I have seen him. Anyway, near the end of the movie when Josey Wales (Clint Eastwood) is meeting with the Comanche Chief, Ten Bears (Will Sampson) and they are having a conversation about life or death for the Texas settlers, Chief Ten Bears makes a statement which I thought was appropriate for the movie; I thought it was probably appropriate for the times in which this story depicted; and I damn sure think it is an accurate description of our present times. Here is the statement:

"It is sad that Governments are Chiefed by the DOUBLE TONGUES".

That accurately describes our present band of professional political vermin who do not have the interest of the American people in mind. They are out for themselves and their own personal gains and interests AND ARE OPERATING AT OUR EXPENSE.

It is past time for many of them to be replaced and in the 2014 elections if some genuine conservatives do not take control of the House AND Senate then I fear we are in for the hardest time in our lives.

Hello once again from a West Texan who still drives SUV's and still burns Fossil Fuel and still has A Jingoistic Attitude and still Believes In Conservatism.

First of all I would like to make this observation:

When George W. Bush was elected there were many Liberals/Democrats/Moderates/Progressives/Socialists who said that they were going to move to another country because George Bush won the election.

Earlier this month I read and listened to a great many supposed Conservative Republicans make the same claim that if Barack Hussein Obama was re-elected that they were going to move out of the United States to another country.

My point is this...... NONE OF THEM HAVE LEFT. THEY ARE ALL STILL HERE. WHEN WILL THEY KEEP THEIR PROMISES AND GET OUT?

I can assure you all that no one on this planet is any more upset with the re-election of the world's most articulate and intelligent human. But I'll be damned if I am going to let a bunch of Socialist Vermin run me out of my own country. They might make my life tough to take BUT I'm not going to wimp out and give in to these mutts.

CNN:

I heard that CNN newsturd Anderson Cooper went to the Gaza Strip. And while there he is sending back reports of how brutally the Israelis are treating the peace loving Palestinians. Cooper is trying to convince the American Public that the poor Palestinians are being once more victimized by the cruel Israelis.

Seems as if Anderson Cooper has somehow missed the odd rocket being fired from the Gaza Strip into Israel.

Ah, but he is quick to point out when a Palestinian civilian is injured or killed. Of course the fact that the Hamas Terrorist Organization is using Palestinian civilians as shields, at the locations from which they fire their rockets into areas where Israeli civilians frequent, seems to have somehow escaped the keen observation of this CNN ace.

The entire mainstream media (which unfortunately includes CNN) is intent on making Hamas and Muslims out as the victims of some horrible Israeli plot, although the Israelis are surrounded and heavily outnumbered by numerous countries under Muslim rule.

But since CNN is owned by Ted Turner who is a major turd, why should their Socialist slanted views surprise any of us. Why don't they have just one Ultra-Liberal, Ultra-Democrat, Ultra-Moderate, Ultra-Progressive, Ultra-Socialist news network and call it ABCNNBCBSMSNBCNPRNPTVMOUSE and have 24 hours commercial free hard hitting reporters like Anderson Cooper, Wolf Blitzer, Dan Rather, Andrea Mitchell, Christiane Amanpour and all the rest of these lying idiots? They might want to hire Juan Williams and Geraldo Rivera away from FOX News just to complete the conglomerate.

TAXES:

OK. Remember prior to the election when the world's most intelligent and articulate human told us that he only wanted to raise the tax rates on the Wealthiest One Percent? Then he dropped down to include ANYONE making over $250,000 per year? Do you remember when he PROMISED that people in the MIDDLE INCOME (except he used Middle Class) or LOWER INCOME families would see ANY INCREASE IN TAXES?

Well earlier this morning I was listening to a morning news program and no it wasn't any of the later programs like Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, or Laura Ingraham. One of the people whom they interviewed was none other than Ultra Democrat Hack Lanny Davis.

Now make no mistake about it, I think Lanny Davis is a pure ultra-liberal turd but occasionally, unlike President Barack Hussein Obama, he will slip up and tell the truth. On this particular morning, Lanny Davis said that increasing the tax rates on the very rich or even those making over $250,000 per year would not make a real dent in our debt. He did come out and say that EVERYBODY WAS GOING TO HAVE TO MAKE SACRIFICES AND THAT MEANT THAT THE MIDDLE CLASS AND LOWER INCOME FAMILIES WOULD HAVE TO BE INCLUDED IN ANY TAX INCREASE. Now here is a Socialist jerk who is a 100% Obama supporter but in all fairness, he did actually tell the truth this morning.

So for all of you idiots who voted for another 4 years of Chicago Mob Rule you can get set to see your taxes increased right along with the rest of us.

What is so stupid is that many voters did not recognize the fact that if businesses had to pay more taxes that this extra cost would be passed along to all of us in the form of increase in prices of goods and services.

I am not real sure about the educational background of the elected professional politicians in Washington, D.C. but I do know that their math skills are about as useful as a sidesaddle for a hog. YES, I am including the Republicans right along with the Democrats/Socialists.

APPOINTMENT:

I have heard several reports that shortly after the first of the year that Hillary Clinton will be leaving her post as Secretary of State. I would suppose that it would be to take over her old job supervising flying monkeys as the Wicked Witch of the West..... but I could be wrong.

However, what concerns me is the names of the possible successors to her position, which I might add she has totally screwed up.

The first name I have heard is Ol' Lyin' Ass Susan Rice.... you remember..... the U.N. Ambassador who did such a masterful job of twisting the truth regarding the Benghazi attack.

Now, if this were not bad enough, the alternate name I heard was John Kerry who has been suggested as either Secretary of State OR SECRETARY OF DEFENSE. God help the Americans in our Military if this turd gets to be Secretary of Defense.

Now here is where it gets interesting. Should Susan Rice be the Nominee for Secretary of State, John McCain and Lindsey Graham will fight to try to block her appointment. That would be sort of like Pee Wee Herman trying to stop Mike Tyson. McCain is a turd. Lindsey Graham is a turd and I am not sure either of these lyin' bozos could stop much of anything.

Ah, but I heard John McCain say that John Kerry was his good friend and that he could see no reason for trying to block that appointment.

For the past week or so all we have been hearing is that after January 1st, if our elected officials do not come to some consensus or some type of compromise that we could "Plunge Off The Fiscal Cliff".

Let's see now, we are over SIXTEEN TRILLION DOLLARS IN DEBT. Our national credit rating has been downgraded. The Obama Administration is printing money like there is no tomorrow and we are being told that if we don't reach some type of COMPROMISE that we could plunge off the fiscal cliff.

Now, I am not an economist nor do I have a Master's Degree in mathematics but when I see our debt of SIXTEEN TRILLION WRITTEN OUR AS:

$16,000,000,000,000

it strikes me as if just perhaps we have already gone over the Fiscal Cliff like 300,000,000 lemmings.

BUT, keep in mind that in our system, at least for the time being, the majority rules and something like 52% of the voting public decided a couple of weeks ago that being ruled by a group of Chicago Mobsters was what they wanted.

This week in the (Sub) Standard Times one of the regular editorial writers wrote an article whose headlines read:

SHOULD MUSLIM SCHOOL HOLIDAYS BE AN OPTION?

And he went on to describe how our Christian and Jewish Holidays are celebrated by our public schools. I do remember attending school with several Jewish kids but I never remember any Jewish religious holiday being singled out and celebrated by closing the schools. But the article stated that in Broward County, Florida the Florida chapter of the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) has requested that recognizing Muslim religious holidays be observed.

And of course this editorial writer for the (Sub) Standard Times seemed to have no problems with this and went on to say that worldwide, Muslims only celebrate two HOLIDAYS. funny, during the war in Iraq it appeared that almost every day was some Muslim religious observation and it appeared that only about two places in the entire country were NOT Holy Shrines.

Anyway, this writer, BRITT TOWERY, closed his article by pointing out this fact: "I may be wrong about that, but many West Texans I know would be waving their pitchforks and lighting their torches as they stormed the streets in opposition."

Funny thing BRITT, I don't own a pitchfork or a torch and I have never stormed the streets for any reason. Neither have I ever kicked an editorial writer's ass...... but I guess there could be a first time for everything.

I got in on the tail end of a conversation this morning on a radio show in which a couple of people were talking about how many Anti-Religious; Anti-Thanksgiving; Anti-Christmas organizations were branding the Thanksgiving Holiday as nothing more than people celebrating MASS-GENOCIDE. Of course they were referring to the European settlers in North America completely wiping out the American Indians who were indigenous to the regions of settlements.

I guess these learned historical scholars do not believe that the various groups of people who inhabited this continent; who spoke different languages; who had different customs; many had different and distinguishing physical features; on the odd occasion would fight among themselves.

Apparently they have never paused to take notice that the physical features of the Iroquois were a bit different from the Comanche. Or that the Plains Indians (Cheyenne, Sioux, Crow, Blackfoot) had markedly different physical characteristics from the Apache, Navajo, Papago, Yaqui and various other desert tribes. Not to mention of course that their languages were not similar and many of their religious practices were different.

Perhaps these idiots never paused to think that on the African Continent the slaughter (genocide) between the indigenous native tribes has cost many more lives than that of European Colonialism.

No, let us instead blame any Caucasian who will sit still and listen to this crap. Let is, by all means, not let any facts creep into the conversation.

This week I have personally visited three people from Texas on our prayer list. Since Big John passed away I still have three good friends who have been experiencing some medical problems. One of them, an 86 year old retired San Angelo Police Officer was run over by a hit and run driver. He is in rehab and I spoke with him this morning and while he is recovering from multiple injuries he has a super attitude. He was pretty tired today but he has really improved from the first time I saw him after the accident.

Probably wouldn't do for me to know who that driver was.

Hello to all. I know I am a day late but yesterday I had to attend yet another funeral for an old friend. This fine lady's name was Tommy Lou Knight, better known to most of us as "Momma Lou". We had been friends with Lou Knight and her family since about 1974. We first met her in Hobbs, New Mexico where she and her husband Sam and family lived. I actually met Lou through her son Flint, who was the same age as our daughter and attended the same Junior High and later on Hobbs High School together.

One thing I knew right off the bat was that Lou Knight had a great sense of humor and was well liked in her community. She was also known for the extremely good cakes she baked. Of course her son and his friends took full advantage of her talent in that area. Lou's husband worked in a petroleum related business and in the early 1990's they moved to Big Spring, Texas where "Momma Lou" once again became a special member of her community.

The preacher who presided over the service told lots of stories about the work that Lou Knight had done since becoming a full time resident of Big Spring. And for those of us who knew her it came as no surprise. She was very active in church activities and enjoyed the same reputation in Big Spring as she had in Hobbs.

Lou's son Flint called me last week and asked that she be added to our prayer list as she had been diagnosed with cancer while in the hospital in Lubbock, Texas for another medical problem. I promptly added this fine lady to the list but on the evening of Sunday, November 11th, I received word from Flint that his Mom had passed away.

We will all miss a great lady and my prayers go out to her husband Sam and the rest of her family. She will be missed by a lot of folks, including me.

CHANGE:

Ever since last Tuesday's election when the world's most articulate and intelligent human was re-elected to a second term as President of the United States, all I have heard from the national Republican experts was that the Republican Party needs to CHANGE their positions on: Immigration; Gay Marriage; Abortion; and a host of other items.

Well, excuse me for saying so but the National Republican Committee and ALL of the Republican hacks who believe this can kiss my backside. If you will just look for a moment, anytime the Democrats/Liberals/Moderates/Progressives/Socialists have been defeated at the polls they DID NOT GIVE UP THEIR ULTRA-LIBERAL IDEAS OR POSITIONS ON ANYTHING. What they did do, other than whine and squeal, was to work harder to get their message across to voters. THEY DID NOT CHANGE THEIR VIEWS OR POSITIONS ON ANYTHING AT ALL.

So my message to the Republican Party, particularly at the national level is to quit their whining and moaning and excuse making and start working to get those voters who either did not vote at all OR voted for the world's most articulate and intelligent human.

Next we hear that Senators John McCain and Lindsey Graham along with Democrat/Liberal/Socialist Senator Chuck Schumer are going to make another run at comprehensive immigration reform.... or for lack of a better term... AMNESTY.

I fully understand and support people from other nations wanting to re-locate to the United States. But there is a legal way to do this. These Senators want to just forget about the law and grant blanket amnesty to many criminal illegal aliens. Oh sure, they say that if someone who has committed a crime is in the country illegally, they should not be granted amnesty, but with the astronomical amount of illegal aliens already in this country, trying to identify many of the criminals is virtually impossible. Either the law should be obeyed or done away with.

Next we hear all of the Republican Pundits whining about reaching across the aisle and working together with the Democrats/Progressives/Socialists and that we can all get along if we COMPROMISE. Please just name me one instance when the Republican Party has come out even in one of these COMPROMISE deals. The Democrats/Progressives/Moderates/Socialists have shown that they are more loyal to their idiotic ideas than the so called Conservative Republicans who are ready to fold their tents and give in to the other side.

My personal feelings are this:

If you believe that something is right, stick to your guns and don't give in.
If you believe that something is wrong, then fight against at with all your strength.
If you make a decision for the sake of convenience, chances are it will be wrong.
Do Not Forsake Your Moral Beliefs!

The Republicans LOST this last election because the Democrats/Progressives/Moderates/Socialists were TOUGHER than we were as a whole. Mitt Romney is a good man and is a gentleman. It is time to take off the gloves and get with the program OR CAVE IN AND JUST LET THEM RUN THE SHOW UNOPPOSED.

Our Choice. I know what mine is.

Let me first of say something to clear the air. I NEVER SENT OR RECEIVED ANY E-MAILS TO OR FROM EITHER JILL KELLEY OR PAULA BROADWELL.

I can understand a complete doof like former Detroit Mayor Kwami Kilpatrick being so stupid as to believe that e-mails sent to his sweetie across the hall could not be retrieved once deleted but I have a hard time buying that C.I.A. Director David Petraeus or General John Allen could have been so uninformed about e-mail messages. I still do not believe we have been given the complete story on either incident.

I have heard any number of comments like this: "Just wait until General Petraeus gets before the Senate Intelligence Committee this week. Now that he is no longer Director of the C.I.A., he can tell the complete truth about the Benghazi attack and put the responsibility right in Obama's lap.

OK. I'm going to say this one time, and I'm sure that most of you already know this.

1) General Petraeus has already testified UNDER OATH before Congress.
2) He will testify to the exact same facts tomorrow OR face being indicted for PERJURY and possibly face a COURT MARTIAL

Once a person testifies under oath they are pretty much stuck with sticking with the same story from now on.

Also, and this is just my personal opinion, I believe that there is not a single person in the Obama Cabinet who does not have some skeleton in their closet AND further that Obama and his henchmen KNOW of these skeletons in advance OR ELSE the person would not have received the appointment. Either that or they are long time associates of Obama and have the same criminal tendencies.

But do not believe for one second that David Petraeus is going to change his testimony and burn Obama. He can't afford to do either.

This is the type of administration that the uninformed voters have thrust upon the American people.

I included just one of the quotes from former University of Texas Coach Darryl Royal. Coach Royal was not only a great football coach, he was also great with one liners. I can remember one of his quotes when he described University of Texas quarterback Walter Fondren in 1957 - "He's quick as a hiccup". And he was. I thoroughly enjoyed watching teams coached by Darryl Royal and his staff back in the lat 1950's, the 1960's and the 1970's. He never had a losing season and won three National Championships and arguably could probably have been crowned with at least one more. I watched Texas University during all those years and they were a class act.

Last Saturday, in honor of Coach Royal, the University of Texas lined up for their first play in the "Wishbone" formation. Of course this formation was made famous by the University of Texas under the guidance of Coach Royal, although he always gave credit for this innovative formation to his Assistant Coach, Emory Bellard who was the actual designer of that offense.

Coach Royal was 88 years old when he died on Wednesday, November 7th. He was a class act

This week the San Angelo Chamber of Commerce recognized three local business for their "Diversity" in their hiring practices or their ethnic backgrounds. According to the radio report I heard these three business were recognized because they either were owned by a female or a minority as a qualification to be recognized.

For some reason the particular ethnic background or the makeup of their employees means less than nothing to me when I go to make a purchase or eat a meal.

For some reason I would think that QUALITY in either service or food would be more important than their sex or ethnic makeup. One might think that when you went to hire someone and you had several applicants that perhaps THE MOST QUALIFIED would be what you were looking for. Of course that is just me.
And the truth of the matter is that I love Mexican Food and almost all of the really good Mexican Food restaurants that I have eaten at were owned or operated by someone with Mexican heritage. Same with Italian food. But it was the quality of the food rather than the racial makeup of the staff that impressed me.

Anyway, all this diversity crap along with all other political correctness is one of the main problems I have with today's society and government.

Novermber 7th, 2012 SADNESS / SON OF SADNESS

WEDNESDAY - November 7, 2012

SADNESS:

Last week I wrote about a couple of good friends who were suffering from serious illnesses. On Friday, November 2, 2012 I received the word that my good friend, John Kearney (Big John) had passed away in his home. I thank God that I did get to see him one last time on the previous Tuesday. I had known John only 9 years but I can remember that the very first morning that I met him, I was really impressed with the kind of person he appeared to be. Then as I got to know him better my opinion of him rose to the point of real respect for a real man of character.

As I said before, John spent a great deal of his adult life as an Ag-Teacher with the high schools in Marfa, Texas and Sterling City, Texas. He taught for 16 years at each school. In 1993 John retired from teaching but not from working. He was at Howard College in Big Spring, Texas for 8 years then moved to San Angelo to work half time with the Texas Education Agency monitoring new agriculture instructors then went on as half time with the Angelo State University Agriculture Department for another two years.

During these times John worked for Winner's Edge and then SureFed Feeds asked John to become their sheep specialist which he did. John had raised, showed, and judged various livestock shows for many years. Through these years John stayed in touch with his many Ag-Teaching friends and many of his former students. In his years as an agriculture teacher he received many awards and had the opportunity to represent the agriculture industry in a number of ways. John judged many shows all over the United States and was an announcer for many lamb shows as well as an announcer for many AJRA and collegiate rodeos.

Big John was instrumental in in beginning the Agriculture Mechanics Show and the Fall Spectacular with the San Angelo Stock Show Association. John was also instrumental in convincing me to go and see the Agriculture Mechanics Show which is held every year in San Angelo in conjunction with the San Angelo Rodeo. He made it sound very interesting and after talking to a couple of other friends I made a trip out to the Spur Arena to see this show. I was absolutely amazed and owe a great debt to Big John for selling me on this event. I will try to never miss another.

If you are not familiar with what goes on at an Agriculture Mechanics Show let me try to give you a description. At our San Angelo Ag-Mechanics show we have high school ag-classes who present a huge variety of projects which they have built themselves and eventually sell these items to various farmers/ranchers for use in their operations. These kids build from scratch all kinds of trailers and livestock loading devices as well as deer hunting stands of every description and they have representatives there who are anxious to tell you about their project. They usually have one section devoted to classes who have restored to new condition various makes and models of farm tractors. Many of them are antiques and look like they just came off the factory assembly line.

These young people really work hard to complete their projects and it is a real pleasure to go see the result of their talents. Of course recognizing talent and worth in young people was an area in which John Kearney excelled. According to everyone who knew him well and worked with him, he had a real flair for seeing good in young people and more importantly could bring out those talents.

At John's funeral, which was held at The Spur Arena, there were a number of stories told about some of John's escapades, many of them were funny stories. But the one thing common about all those stories, humorous or otherwise, was that the stories were about something that happened when John was helping someone out; or going to help someone out; or returning from helping someone in need. And that is the quality I had observed in Mr. John Walter Kearney Sr. the very first time I saw him.

As I said, his funeral was held at the Spur Arena and it was not only appropriate as he had spent lots of time at various events in this location, but the seating was also needed as there were people from all over the state and out of state who came to honor this man who had touched so many lives. I have attended a number of funerals which had a large attendance but I don't remember ever attending one which had as many people as those who came to say goodbye to Big John. And the only place I have seen more cowboy hats in one location was in a John Wayne movie.

As a last comment, upon entering the building, over the loudspeaker you were treated to the Prelude music which was Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys. After the service as the family was being escorted out the first song played was Fraulein by Bobby Helms which was followed by more Bob Wills music.

Big John was laid to rest in the place of his birth, Sweetwater, Texas.

My prayers go out to his wife, Sue Ann and his family. I will miss this truly Good Man.

SON OF SADNESS:

Last night at about 9:30 P.M. I was very tired and went to bed with Mitt Romney and Barack Hussein Obama tied with 163 electoral votes each. I was just too tired to stay up until the end.

The first thing I did this morning was turn onto FOX News and the first piece I saw was Barack Hussein Obama giving his acceptance speech. To say that I was sad is a mild understatement. Of course with it being the morning after a national election, the next thing I did was to look in my front yard for my copy of the (Sub) Standard Times which was not there ..... which also was no surprise. But I did get it later on in the morning. I did not really care to watch a bunch of Democrats/Socialists beating their chests, nor did I care to hear all the excuses as to why Mitt Romney lost this election.

My main interest was in how my county and area had voted. In this respect I was really very pleased. In Tom Green County, Texas, Mitt Romney won with 73.22% of the vote. In the U.S. Senate race, Republican Ted Cruz one with 58% of the vote. Congressman Mike Conaway (REP) won with 79% of the vote. Our local County Sheriff and County Commissioner elections were both won by the Republican Candidates.

At the State level, there were 3 State Supreme Court Justice positions up for grabs and all of them were won by Republicans. There were 7 Court of Criminal Appeals Justice positions open and all 7 were won by the Republican candidates. Additionally the 2 Railroad Commissioner and State Board of Education positions were all won by the Republican candidates.

So, overall I was pretty pleased with the voters in Texas. Unfortunately the same cannot be said for the majority of voters in the states of OHIO, PENNSYLVANIA, VIRGINIA, FLORIDA, COLORADO, NEW MEXICO, IOWA, WISCONSIN, or MINNESOTA. Of course we all pretty much expected the upper East Coast and the West Coast states to all go for the world's most articulate and intelligent human but those states which I capitalized should not be the least bit surprised when they see just exactly what kind of person they have returned to the most powerful elected position on the planet.

In the previous section I tried to put down my feelings regarding a very good man. After all the party politics were done and Mitt Romney was chosen to be the Republican Candidate for President of the United States, I began to take closer notice of this man. A pretty good while back I came to the opinion that Mitt Romney was also a very good man. I believe him to be a man of character and a many who bases his actions on what is right or wrong rather than what is politically advantageous.

Anyway, for the next FOUR LONG YEARS I do not want to hear one single word of complaint from anyone in any of those capitalized states about making the wrong choice.

Unfortunately, it became apparent yesterday that a little over 50% of the voters in the United States possess the intelligence of a bag of packing foam. And what is even more amazing..... not surprising but merely amazing... is how many of these idiots are still ready to blame George Bush for our financial problems. I am not trying to say that George Bush did a very good job in his last four years in office. Remember that for two of those four years, George Bush had a Republican controlled House and Senate. So, let us all remember that for Barack Hussein Obama's first two years as President, he had a Democrat controlled House and Senate. So I guess all we can hope for is for Barack Hussein Obama to pull a George Bush and piss off his entire second term.

Let me first say that I feel extremely sorry for the people who lost loved ones and property in Hurricane Sandy. This has pretty much been the main subject of every news program over the past few days. Let us remember that while this storm was very large in size that the primary reason for the costly damage was the location where the storm finally hit our shores on the East Coast.

I can understand that high winds in the 80 mph range can cause some really serious damage as can torrential rains which cause major flooding But just as in Hurricane Katrina, I believe that the mainstream news media have done their best to make this storm appear much worse than it actually was. First of all we must realize that the City of New York is not used to major storms coming in off the Atlantic and striking the heavily populated areas of New York and New Jersey.

In 1961 when I was still living in Houston we were hit by Hurricane Carla. Carla was also a huge hurricane and was originally what is now a Category 5 Hurricane with top winds reaching 175+ miles per hour. Enormous damage and flooding resulted but in a much less populated area. Hurricane Carla actually ceased to be a hurricane when the winds subsided to less than 70 mph after it had crossed the border into Kansas.

Also keep in mind that at that time there was no FEMA and damn little federal help and the people who lost everything were assisted by their neighbors; their churches; and their friends. And I saw a number of people who literally lost everything to extremely high winds and flooding.

I am for doing everything we can to help the victims of these massive storms but earlier this morning I listened to a statement made by President Barack Hussein Obama when he assured the American people that he had GIVEN ORDERS to "Cut through the Red Tape and Bureaucracy". This statement leads me to ask this question:

WHY IS THERE RED TAPE AND BUREAUCRATIC STUMBLING BLOCKS IN THE FIRST PLACE???

If this federal agency were run properly these conditions should not exist. But the brutal truth is that the American people have become LAZY and have learned to accept sub-standard and incompetent performances out of almost every level of the federal government. I believe that if the Federal Government would SHUT UP and stay out of the way, that the states could better provide the needed services.

Again, I feel for those unfortunate people who lost family, friends and property in this storm but the media has been trying to convince us all over the past few days that this was the worst disaster EVER. But wait...... I thought Katrina was the worst disaster EVER... ah but Barack Hussein Obama was not President at that time.

Just keep in mind that the 1900 hurricane which hit Galveston, Texas killed..... yes KILLED.... approximately 9,000 people. But also I guess the real important fact to remember is that the world's most articulate and intelligent human wasn't around then to cut through the red tape and bureaucracy.

MISDIRECTION:

Ever since we were kids we were awed by magicians who performed some pretty amazing tricks. Of course one of the primary tricks used by magicians or slight-of-hand performers was a little something called..... MISDIRECTION... which, for those of you residing in the People's Republic of San Francisco, means getting you to look in one direction where there is a lot of movement while the real trick was being done right under our noses but we never saw it because of our attention being MISDIRECTED.

Well, the past few days with a very few exceptions, the Obama Administration has done a MISDIRECTION JOB on us all, with the help of the Mainstream Media.

Prior to Hurricane Sandy taking the attention of a great many people in our nation, most of our attention was focused on the outright lies and incompetence shown by Barack Hussein Obama, Hillary Clinton, Leon Panetta, and the rest of the current administration and by most Democrats/Liberals/Progressives/Moderates/Socialists.

Their original reasons given by these mutts, with the assistance of the mainstream media, were so lame that even a cave man could see through it. (If this offends the Geico people, tough shit .... and the same to the mainstream media in general and MSNBC and Chris Matthews in particular).

On Monday night, I believe it was, I watched the father and family of Tyrone Woods on FOX News. I had heard Tyrone's father interviewed on several other programs. If you could watch this man and listen carefully to what he said, like me, you would be ready to impeach the entire Obama Administration.

Apparently the people at the Libyan Embassy were asking for help not only during the terrorist attack BUT were asking for additional security PRIOR TO THE ATTACK. According to everything I have heard, outside the incompetent Obama Administration, not only was help NOT SENT but actual RESCUE FORCES WERE TOLD TO STAND DOWN.

So, please spare me all the phony sympathies and condolences being put forth by Barack Hussein Obama and Hillary Clinton and the rest of these Socialist Turds.

Again, I am sorry for the losses suffered by the victims of Hurricane Sandy BUT I have some serious feelings for those families who NEEDLESSLY lost family members in the Libyan Terrorist Attacks which the Obama Administration tried to tell us was simply some demonstrators which got a bit carried away. Also this bunch of losers is trying to pass this whole matter off as a criminal matter and keeps telling us that the perpetrators will be BROUGHT TO JUSTICE. Brought To Justice? These turds are not guilty of breaking into a school and stealing computers; they are not guilty of driving while intoxicated. THEY ARE MUSLIM TERRORISTS WHO NEED TO BE ELIMINATED!!!

So I guess what I am trying to say to the OBAMA ADMINISTRATION is this:

You would have more success giving CPR to a mummy than you will be trying to convince me that you really give a damn about our murdered ambassador and those Navy SEALs.

DO NOT BE DECEIVED BY MISDIRECTION. KICK THESE TURDS OUT NEXT TUESDAY.

SORROW:

Last week end I spent visiting with some of my best and oldest friends. Many were people with whom I worked back in the late 1950's up until 1970. I always enjoy re-living old times with these folks.

But unfortunately, one of my old friends wasn't able to make the gathering. His name is Don Weaver. You will notice that Don has been added to our prayer list. He is at his home in Houston suffering from multiple illnesses with his future not looking very bright. I first med Don in 1958 when we were both members of the Houston Police Academy #19. There were 70 members of this class and many of them are no longer with us.

On the first day of the class there were only 69 people who showed up which left us one short of the maximum of 70. On the second day of the Academy, Don joined us as his name was first on the list of applicants which would be accepted to the next school. Don was a really nice guy and I don't believe I ever heard any of his co-workers say a bad word about him. He always had a nice smile on his face and the last time I saw him which was 2 years ago, he had not changed in looks all that much. He had taken good care of himself and looked to be in excellent physical condition.

I guess this shows us all how rapidly things can turn in the other direction. I will try to keep up with his progress but losing a man of his quality is a sad thing. I will pray for him each day.

Earlier this morning I went out to visit another good friend whom I have known only over the past 8 years or so. His name also appears on our prayer list. His name is John Kearney.... or as all his friends call him BIG JOHN. And he is called that for a couple of very good reasons. First of all he is 6'7" and when his health was good he weighed somewhere between 280 - 300 pounds. Big John had been an Ag Teacher all his professional life but upon retirement he still participated in many agriculture related activities. He judged stock shows. He announced Rodeos. He represented a feed company and up until recently travelled a great deal. John, I believe is 75 years old and I must say is one of the nicest gentlemen I have ever known.

Last year in December he met my oldest grandson who came to visit us with his family. My grandson lives on a large cattle ranch in Colorado and really loves the ranch life as does his family. John always told me that he sure was impressed with my grandson and every time I saw John after that he would inquire as to the well being of my grandson.

John was admitted to the hospital a number of weeks back and he was diagnosed with leukemia and also his kidneys have failed. He is presently at home in a hospital bed with HOSPICE and other Home Health Care looking after him as well as his wonderful wife.

Every time I go to see him I have to wonder if this is the last time I will see him alive. From what everyone has told me and from my own observations, John Kearney pretty much devoted his life to helping other people.

Old friends are tough to beat and are impossible to replace. Please join me in praying for my two friends. They are two of the good ones.

The other morning I was listening to a morning news report when I heard the report that a sailing vessel had been abandoned and the crew were awaiting rescue by the U.S. Coast Guard. I was paying not all that close attention to the story until the reporter said that he sailing ship was an old time sailing ship and was built as a replica of the sailing ship MUTINY which was used in the movie Mutiny on the Bounty.

Stupidity of this stature is just begging to be made fun of. You just wanted to scream at this boob that the name of the ship was THE HMS BOUNTY upon which the MUTINY occurred.

A few days back I read a story from a guest columnist, Bruce Foreman. The title of the article was:

HAVING AMATEUR IN WHITE HOUSE LEAVES US ALL IN DANGER.

The article went on to describe just how badly Obama and his incompetent minions have botched the September 11th attack on our Libyan diplomatic crew which resulted in the deaths of Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other American Heroes.

Mr. Foreman said in his article, "I blame the White House and the State Department for leaving Ambassador Chris Stevens and his information officer in place and vulnerable, almost staked out like sacrificial goats at a time when they should have known and expected an attack was likely." He went on to say, "The claim there was no actionable intelligence to indicate an attack was imminent, but there were indications that something was up ---- 234 attempts to embassies and consulates in Libya with about 47 of those in Benghazi should have indicated what was in the wind."

He pointed out that the State Department had requested that the embassy do more with less.

He also pointed out that the White House and the incompetents who occupy it classify Maj. Nidal Hassan's murder of 13 soldiers at Fort Hood as WORKPLACE VIOLENCE despite clear evidence Hassan was counseled by a radicalized American Muslim cleric in Yemen and considers himself a soldier of Allah.

I also liked his last line in the article..... "As Bugs Bunny would say, What a bunch of Maroons."

Hello once again from the Jingoistic Angry West Texans Sick Of Debates Association.

DEBATE:

Prior to Monday night's Presidential Debate almost everyone was talking about how this was the perfect opportunity for Mitt Romney to drop the big bomb on Barack Obama regarding the Obama Administration's handling of the murder of our American diplomats in Libya. Most all of the media outlets were predicting that Romney would dwell on this particular subject.

I was talking with a couple of friends prior to the debate and the thought crossed my mind that since EVERYONE and I do mean EVERYONE was eagerly anticipating an attack by Mitt Romney on Obama for, not only bungling the safety issue of our Americans assigned to the embassy in Libya, but perpetrating the lies subsequent to the event, that perhaps another strategy might be in order.

The thought dawned on me that just maybe the Democrats along with the far left mainstream media were preparing for such an assault and that since lying was not an issue with any of those mutts, they might just be ready for the attack.

I sort of tried to break it down into football terms. When a team is preparing a defense for an upcoming opponent, they do so by watching film and also from information gained from scouting reports. And they do this also when preparing an offensive game plan by the same methods. And often we see that this works pretty well, particularly in the first half. But at halftime they generally make adjustments so that the second half looks a bit different, particularly for whichever team is behind at half time.

BUT, in the debate format, where Mitt Romney more than likely knew that the moderator would probably lean more toward Obama, I believe that Mr. Romney threw them a curve when they were expecting a fast ball. He spent very little time in attacking Obama regarding the incompetent... or shall I more correctly say.... criminal mishandling of the Libyan murders and actually began to turn the debate more toward domestic issues. I actually thought it was a brilliant strategy and all the preparation done by Team Obama for Libya was pretty well wasted.

And in the long run I thought Mitt Romney acted professionally and actually came across more like a Commander In Chief than did the world's most articulate and intelligent human. This was also the observation by many professionals who viewed the same debate that I did.

So, while Mitt Romney came across as a gentleman who was in control of his emotions, Barack Hussein Obama came across as the ARROGANT, PETULANT, LYING, ILL-MANNERED, SPOILED BRAT that he has always been.

I know that I am not a professional debater or professional news person, but I do know what I saw on Monday evening and I do know a SMART-ASS when I see one.

Apparently, despite what all the media experts seemed to be saying following this debate, Mr. Romney's popularity has increased which is not only good for conservative people but good for America as well.

UNDECIDED:

On the Tuesday following Monday night's debate I listened to a bunch of talk radio and heard many callers giving their particular takes on the debate. What struck me as most interesting were the calls from the so-called UNDECIDED VOTERS. Some of the had changed their views and were moving over into the Romney camp while still others thought that there was nothing on earth which could possibly be done wrong by Barack Hussein Obama.

I heard one caller, who claimed to be a Romney supporter, call in and say that he thought Romney had lost the debate because he didn't have enough "ZINGERS" while Obama had more than his share. I strongly disagreed with this boob since Mitt Romney came across as a more serious candidate while Obama was trying to be cute.

One segment in which Obama was trying to be cute and I am sure in his mind humorous was when Mitt Romney brought up the subject of our Navy having fewer ships that we did in the 1920's. The world's most articulate and intelligent and evidently in his mind the cutest human responded by pointing out that we had fewer horses and bayonets than we did in the past. Not satisfied with this snide and childish remark, Obama went on to point out that we now had ships which airplanes could land on and also ships that sailed underwater. I am sure that Obama thought he had scored a major point but in actuality, all he did was to prove that he is a wise-ass turd. You see, I thought this debate was to show leadership and presidential skills, not who could make the most smart ass remarks.

So, if that caller is going to vote based upon "ZINGERS" then he should by all means cast his vote for Barack Hussein Obama. I feel relatively sure that after November 6, 2012, Obama might have some extra time on his hands so that he can go around the country putting on clown acts for the UNDECIDED IDIOTS.

One of these UNDECIDED VOTERS said that in their opinion Obama had won the debate but that he had decided to vote for Romney. When asked if he was firm in his commitment to vote for Mitt Romney, this UNDECIDED VOTER said that he was "Pretty Sure, BUT that there was still enough time to CHANGE HIS MIND".

What a gathering of slugs.

ABUSE:

Here are a few definitions for the word ABUSE as located in a Webster's New World Dictionary:

ABUSE - v. to use wrongly; to mistreat; n. wrong use; mistreatment; a corrupt practice

I am sure that we have seen people and things abused in many ways. But the thought dawned upon me, while watching these debates and the subsequent reports of what I had just finished watching, that perhaps one of the greatest examples of ABUSE is being perpetrated upon the American Public by none other than THE MAINSTREAM PRESS (Print and Electronic Media). The First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States says:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibition the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, OR OF THE PRESS, or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Let us examine the part which isolates FREEDOM OF THE PRESS. I know it is not spelled out specifically in the First Amendment, BUT isn't it also incumbent upon THE PRESS to SEARCH FOR AND PRINT OR BROADCAST THE TRUTH?

If we look at many venues of the media today we will see a real scarceness of incidents which are truthfully reported. It is becoming more and more common for media outlets to either twist the facts..... or...... leave certain facts out ........... or print reporter's opinions ....... or ADD SUPPOSED FACTS. If a story is based upon the writer's opinion rather than facts then it should be labeled as such. I suppose one of my really pet peeves is to watch something on television and then be subjected to a plethora of people telling me what I just saw, thereby insulting my limited intelligence.

What I am trying to say is that along with this guaranteed FREEDOM, also comes a little something called RESPONSIBILITY which has been lacking in our various forms of mainstream media. So, YES, the media is abusing their guaranteed freedom of the press and it is about time we began to call them out on it. In my opinion it is a ABUSE OF THE FIRST AMENDMENT.

I guess this sort of goes along with my theory (OPINION) that these people, (the Democrats/Progressives/Moderates/Liberals/Socialists) lie so often that they don't even bother to remember which lie they told last or first or in the middle.

Last week the (Sub) Standard Times told us a really tragic story. I know that most of you will be as saddened as was I to learn of the arrest of former Rapper/Hip-Hop Artist/Reality Show Star, "Flavor Flav" was jailed on felony charges in Las Vegas, NV. The former Rapper/Hip-Hop and Reality Show personality was being held in lieu of $23,000 bail for Assault With A Deadly Weapon which carries a possible penalty of up to six years in prison.

Ah, but not to worry as a couple of days later, "Flavor Flav", whose legal name is William Jonathan Drayton Jr., was freed after bail was posted.

I am sure that all of you are as relieved as was I to learn that this musical genius is no longer incarcerated..... Then again, maybe not.

I watched one report on several news shows and read an article which told us that in the year 2011, the Federal Government spent $746 BILLION DOLLARS on various WELFARE PROGRAMS..... and this figure DID NOT INCLUDE SOCIAL SECURITY OR MEDICARE.

Hey! I can understand now how some people are still UNDECIDED. I also have a hard time deciding if I want to spend my money on my family and friends and helping people of my choice OR let the Federal Government squander it on USELESS PROGRAMS WHICH DO NOT WORK.

Show me an UNDECIDED VOTER and I'll show you someone who needs and deserves a swift kick in the ass.

Of course that also holds true for the voter who has DECIDED TO VOTE FOR OBAMA and his Socialist followers.

DEBATES:

A few words about the Vice Presidential Debate. Joseph Biden showed us all exactly what a dangerous doof he is. The very thought of this clown being in charge of anything is absolutely frightening. Biden received all the help he could from Moderator, Martha Raddatz, but there was nothing she could say or do to make Biden appear even close to sane. Of course since lying is not a real controlling factor with the Liberals/Democrats/Moderates/Progressives/Socialists, then pretty much anything goes insofar as their answers or responses. Even some mainstream media mutts after the debate had some really disparaging remarks to make when referring to the Vice President's performance in his debate. I heard several reports which said that Biden interrupted Paul Ryan 82 times. Let's see now, 82 interruptions in 90 minutes.

Let's jump forward to last evening's so called debate between Challenger, Mitt Romney and current President, Barack Hussein Obama.

Once again, the Republican establishment fell for the "Lucy Holding The Football For Charlie Brown" ploy and allowed the Democrats/Liberals/Socialists to pick a debate moderator of their choice. I am not quite sure exactly at what point in time the Republicans will realize that their Democrat/Liberal/Moderate/Progressive/Socialist compatriots WILL NEVER PLAY BY THE RULES. And that lying and stacking the deck is their style in every deal that they make.

I did watch the entire debate last night and I thought that Governor Romney came across pretty much as he did in the first debate. Ah, but the new, more aggressive, Barack Hussein Obama seem to have undergone a transformation and turned suddenly from a confused, incompetent, lying varmint into an aggressive, incompetent, lying varmint. I have heard varying reports as to who won the debate and of course they generally went along party lines. But even several reports I heard from some liberal media was that while Obama did better than he did in the first debate but still did not hit the home run which they had hoped for.

Of course many of the responses to the questions made by Barack Hussein Obama were blatant lies. One of the things which many people do not realize is that when you are dealing with liars, right and wrong and consequences mean absolutely nothing to the person telling the lies. I have often heard it said that when you tell one lie you have a hard time remembering that lie and can get tripped up later down the line. This is generally true.

BUT, when you are dealing with dishonest, incompetent, habitual liars you need to realize that it doesn't matter what you said in your first lie.... all that matters is that you make your second and subsequent lies every bit as believable as your first. Habitual liars actually believe that their magnetic personalities will overcome any lies which they told at an earlier time. And of course in many instances their tactics work, but generally only on pretty weak people.

I am not going to go into all the times in which Barack Hussein Obama lied in last night's debate but one that really seemed to jump out at me was his version of his portrayal of the murder of our diplomatic personnel assigned to the Libyan embassy. I know that for at least the first 5 -7 days AFTER the terrorist attack on our people, the ENTIRE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION attempted to make the American People believe that this was simply a demonstration which got out of hand. I believe we have all heard enough to convince us that either the Obama Administration was/is LYING or SUPER INCOMPETENT.

I thought that Governor Romney looked strong and did not back off from the lying President and his pretty much loaded house.

Also I noticed that the questions asked from this congregation of "Undecided Voters" gave rise to the fact that every single one of them had questions which involved THEMSELVES. Not one single question that I heard actually involved what would be best for our country as a whole but rather how the "Undecided Voter" could benefit.

The very first question asked by that college student who would graduate in something like 2014 was how the candidate could guarantee that this student could find a job upon graduation. What a self centered turd. HEY! How about this? NO ONE CAN GUARANTEE YOUR SUCCESS IN FINDING A JOB. YOU HAVE TO COMPETE AND DO WELL AND POSSESS SOME ACTUAL SKILLS IN ORDER TO LAND A JOB!

Once again the combined I.Q. of the audience appeared to equal that of the normal speed limit in a residential are. For those of you residing in the People's Republic of San Francisco that would be around 30 which is a bit lower than normal.

But the bottom line was that the people asking the questions appeared to be highly selfish and gave the impression of being a shade on the slow side.

MODERATORS:

Let me first deal with Martha Raddatz, who moderated the Ryan/Biden debate.

She appeared to do everything she could to support Biden which included interrupting Paul Ryan and supporting Biden whenever she could. I don't recall ever having seen this woman prior to this so called debate, but I sure hope she has other work since her Debate Moderating Skills appear to be a bit shallow.

At one time in the past there was a theory known as the Lombrosian Theory which was put forth by Cesare Lombroso (1835-1909) in which he determined that criminals can be distinguished from non-criminals by multiple physical characteristics. He postulated that criminals possessed physical characteristics which represented a reversion to sub-human types of man reminiscent of lower forms of primates. Of course his theory was much more involved than that but I think you all get the idea.

I would imagine then, that if Lombroso carried his theory out to the physical characteristics of a biased, incompetent, bought and paid for moderator, that possessing a face like a "Fried Monkey" would be necessary.

It was obvious that this squack was in the tank for the Democrat/Moderate/Progressive/Socialist and her credibility roughly parallels that of a panelist on The View.

Now let's move on to last night's moderator Candy Crowley who sort of reminded me of Smiley "Frog Millhouse" Burnett with a wig. But from that point on, she reminded me of Martha Raddatz in the fact that she was also obviously bought and paid for by the Obama bunch.

And of course I have heard her hammered pretty good today for her obviously siding with Obama on his calling the Libyan attack an act of terrorism in his initial speech on the day of the murders.

But, why should any of us be surprised when a group if lying incompetent vermin pick incompetent hacks to moderate their debates?

THOUGHTS:

This week we were notified of the deaths of Alex Karras who played professional football and was also an actor and broadcaster after his career in the NFL. I always like him and thought he was a very good football player and I also enjoyed most of his roles on TV and film.

Last night I watched Barack Hussein Obama tell the audience in the debate that he was PRO-SECOND AMENDMENT. I am not sure but this maybe was the biggest lie which was told last night. But then again, there were so many lies told by Obama, it is pretty hard to isolate the single biggest one.

I went to the Jewish World Review site on the Internet and pulled up a column by Thomas Sowell. You all know that I quote Dr. Sowell quite frequently and I believe him not only to be extremely intelligent but very informed on political matters as well. This particular column was entitled: RANDOM THOUGHTS. He does this on occasion and his observations are always dead on target. Here are a few of Dr. Sowell's RANDOM THOUGHTS:

* If you truly believe in the brotherhood of man, then you must believe that blacks are just as capable of being racists as whites are.

I want everybody to watch and see if that at some point between now and about a week or so prior to the election that the Obama Administration will launch some type of rocket attack against some remote tent or mud hut and tell us that they had valid intelligence that the people who committed the actual murders of our Libyan Diplomatic Team were inside that tent/mud hut.

Whether or not there is a grain of truth in the information is completely beside the point. It will give the mainstream media another chance to show us all how really tough and on top of things the Obama Administration really is.

I am sure we have all seen and heard and read the reports of Malala Yousufzai, a 14 year old Pakistani girl who promoted education for Pakistani females, being shot in the head by members of the Taliban. I believe she was on a bus with other young Pakistani girls when it was stopped and she was singled out and shot.

Fortunately the shot did not kill her. However, the Taliban has sworn to make sure that the next time she will die. They are determined to kill this 14 year old girl.

So, with this in mind, the mainstream media, American and other has been printing the location where the injured girl is being kept. I sure hope she has better security than did our diplomats assigned to Libya.

I asked the caller if they ever read their return mail and he said that he did not know. I told him to try to locate some of my written responses to the RNC and if he felt that a follow up call to me for a donation, that he should follow his heart.

Greetings once more from the Headquarters Of Four Wheel Drive Pickup Owning Rifle Pistol And Shotgun Owning Ammunition Purchasing Angry Jingoistic Right Wing Conspirators Of West Texas.

REAL:

Last week I, along with many of you had the pleasure of observing Republican Presidential Candidate, Mitt Romney, systematically cut a huge chunk out of Barack Hussein Obama's lyin' ass, and hand it to him on a silver platter. There was absolutely no doubt in my mind, or apparently in the minds of most sane people, that had Mitt Romney winning the debate in a convincing manner. And in addition, even some far left leaning Liberals/Progressives/Moderates/Socialists/Democrats along with quite a few media vermin actually thought that the world's most intelligent and articulate human..... how shall I put it................ screwed the pooch?

BUT, the very next day at a political fund raising event, while in front of some of his supporters, Barack Hussein Obama made this observation:

The Mitt Romney you saw last night, was NOT the REAL MITT ROMNEY!

Actually, my thoughts are that the Mitt Romney, whom we saw completely destroy the world's most articulate and intelligent human, WAS in fact the REAL MITT ROMNEY. BUT...... to take it a step further, I believe that the bumbling, stumbling, inept, often incoherent, incompetent Barack Hussein Obama who was politically sliced and diced right in front of our eyes.......... WAS in fact THE REAL BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA.

It was readily apparent to me that without a favorably one sided packed audience and without the use of his teleprompter, that the world's most intelligent and articulate human was neither ARTICULATE NOR INTELLIGENT, when the chips were down.

We are often asked, when the phone rings at the White House at 3:00 A.M., who do you want answering that phone?

Well, I for one, damn sure don't want this Chicago Mob Controlled Incompetent Mutt to be calling the shots at 3:00 A.M. or any other time of the day, for that matter. There is an old saying, "Beauty is only skin deep BUT Ugly goes all the way to the bone". If that is in fact true then I would think that the same would hold true regarding perception and reality when it comes to judging a person's abilities to act under pressure.

As I have said before, Barack Hussein Obama would be more acceptable dealing Three Card Monte at some Chicago South Side Wal-Mart parking lot.

Let's show him the exit in November.

LIBYA:

I started to hold off a bit on this as there is a bunch coming out today regarding the terrorist attacks on our Libyan Ambassador and his four colleagues which resulted in all their deaths.

Thank God, there are finally some State Department employees who are telling the truth regarding the request for additional American Security Forces for the protection of our diplomatic staff AND the administration's refusal to provide same. Also being brought to light are reports that there was actually some prior warning signs that attempts would be made on the Ambassador's life in attacks on 9/11.

This group of lying politicians who are presently occupying the White House along with their incompetent lying staff members have, perhaps, reached the end of their string.

The Obama Administration has had everyone from the President on down to his incompetent Press Secretary and everybody in between telling some far fetched fairy tale about some 30 minute piece-o-crap video, which had been released in July, as being the primary cause for this IMPROMPTU attack on our American diplomatic staff.

Yeah...... It was about as IMPROMPTU as the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor in December, 1941.

We must not forget all the lies we have been fed, with the assistance of the mainstream news media, regarding this incident and the fast and furious manufactured story by the Justice Department.

We can take back control of our country in November.

OPINION:

OK. Here are a few opinions which I have heard within the past week:

According to former Vice President AL GORE, the reason for Obama's poor performance in the Denver Debate was.............now get ready for this, THE ALTITUDE. See? Most of you probably don't realize that Mitt Romney, being the scoundrel that he is, actually came to Denver a few days prior to the debate so that he could practice at altitude, whereas, Barack Obama didn't show up in Denver until the afternoon of the Debate.

Now see, don't you feel bad. All this time you have been thinking that Barack Hussein Obama just got caught without his teleprompter and his puppet masters when all the while, it was just the altitude which made him seem idiotic.

Then I heard an audio tape of some Democrat hack, whose last name I believe is Shultz, make the keen observation that the reason Obama did not do well in the debate is because .............. now prepare yourselves for this one.................... HE DIDN'T WANT TO BE VIEWED AS AN ANGRY BLACK MAN. OK. Now let me see if I can put this in perspective:

1) Barack Obama got totally steamrolled by Mitt Romney in the Denver Debate.

2) Barack Obama looked angry on many occasions while he was being slam dunked.

3) Barack Obama is a Black Man.

With these three conditions existing, regardless of what Mr. Shultz says, I must conclude that Barack Hussein Obama IS/WAS/SHALL CONTINUE TO BE and Angry Black Man.

Then earlier this morning I heard an interview with Chuck Schumer who perhaps made the most idiotic statement about Obama's performance in the Denver Debate, when he said that he thought that Barack Obama had acted "VERY PRESIDENTIAL". Now I have always been of the opinion that Chuck Schumer might not be in possession of a full stringer of fish, but this observation makes me think that perhaps he should give up politics and perhaps see if one of the TV Networks might be in favor of resurrecting "The Gong Show" and naming him as host.

So in closing let me share with you all, MY OPINION. And that is that neither Barack Obama, nor Al Gore, nor Chuck Schumer is qualified to do Sham-Wow commercials.

Now many of you will probably find some political motive behind this next item.

I read an article in yesterday's edition of the (Sub) Standard Times which told us of Barack Hussein Obama's trip to California -- not to appear on the David Letterman Show -- not to make an appearance on The View -- nor to attend a fund raiser at George Clooney's house. No, this trip was to designate the home of Latino Labor Leader, Cesar Chavez as a NATIONAL MONUMENT.

The (Sub) Standard Times did, however, point out that this move could shore up support from some Latinos and progressive voters for Obama, whose 2008 "Yes We Can" slogan was borrowed (stolen) from Chavez's motto, "Si Se Puede."

I am sure that many of you narrow minded angry right wingers think that all Obama had in mind was the Hispanic vote in November. Well let me take this opportunity to tell you that I am in complete agreement with you.

Yesterday I listened to a radio interview with a man in California who ran a gas station. I do not recall the location. But this man said that last month when he had his tanks filled up, his purchase price for the gasoline was at that time $30,000.00. He said that this month his cost for the same amount of gas was $50,000.

I just wonder how George Bush managed to increase the price of gas in California? I mean, it has to be George Bush's fault, doesn't it?

FINALLY, some entertainment news to which I can relate. Once again, this was an article from the (Sub) Standard Times. But it sure came as no surprise to me. Some of you, however probably won't completely buy the story. Anyway here it is.

"NEW YORK" -- "Lil' Wayne is not only making rap history, he is making rock 'n' roll history: The rapper has surpassed Elvis Presley as the male with the most entries on Billboard's Hot 100 Chart. Lil' Wayne now has 109 songs on the chart with Thursday's debut of Game's song CELEBRATION, where he is a guest alongside Chris Brown, Tyga and Wiz Khalifa" (Now there are some immediately recognizable household names.) The article went on to say: "Of his 109 charted songs, only 42 are led by Lil' Wayne; 67 are songs where he is the featured act."

"Presley totaled 108 songs on the Hot 100 since it launched in 1958. Presley's career kicked off before that and several of his songs -- like Heartbreak Hotel-- could not be included in his total number."

Wow, that seems like a fair comparison, doesn't it.

Greetings from Jingoistic Conspiratorial Fossil Fuel Burning SUV Four Wheel Drive Owning West Texans Who Are Sick Of Conventions And Lying.

I can remember when I was a pretty small boy that my Dad told me lots of things which I found to be absolutely true later on down the road. One of the main things he always told me was that I would be judged by the way I acted when nobody was watching me. For awhile I didn't know exactly what he meant because I thought for sure that someone was watching me all the time... or at least that seemed to be the case when I was doing something which I shouldn't have been doing.

Then later on down the road when I was in Lanier Junior High School in Houston, one of my football coaches told us all that we should play each and every play as if the ball carrier was going to come right over where we were. I had loads of respect for this former WW II Marine and it began to dawn on me just exactly what my Dad had meant when he told me about how I would be judged. I had heard this same advise several times down the road during my life.

Last Thursday when I attended the funeral of my long time friend Dennis Wesley, one of the speakers at the service also made mention of the services which Dennis had performed "When No One Was Watching", and all of this came back to me.

Then later that same night I was watching the Republican Convention and listened to a great many speakers but some of them which caught my attention were some ordinary working people whom Mitt Romney had given assistance "When No One Was Watching". Mr. Romney helped these families because it was the right thing to do and because that also reflected on his upbringing by his family.

Now I don't know if I agree with every single thing that Mitt Romney proposes but I believe I do have a better idea of his character. And what's more I believe I have a pretty damn good idea of the character of Barack Hussein Obama. I have also seen how he acts "When No One Is Watching"...... or more accurately "When He Is Not Aware Of Others Watching".

Just think back during his presidency and think of all the times when he has made errors in his presentation and then caught himself and tried to lamely explain that we had just misunderstood his meaning. Think of the times when he was unaware of an open mike and he made statements which didn't seem to be in the best interests of our country.

And also keep in mind that the mainstream media who are supposed to be the "Watchdogs" for the American public are in reality in the tank for the Obama administration.

It is up to us to WATCH Obama and his minions from now to election day and then let him and his band of lying criminals WATCH US AS WE REPLACE HIM AND HIS SOCIALIST POLICIES.

Last Thursday evening as I was watching the Republican Convention it was pretty well known by then that Clint Eastwood would be the "Surprise Speaker". Then when he walked out, I noticed the empty chair by the podium. I wondered what it was doing there. Then when Mr. Eastwood began his off the cuff presentation it became apparent that he was taking the "Empty Suit" description of Obama to a different level. It also became obvious that the two speakers who would follow him were going to make serious speeches and that Mr. Eastwood was there to bring a bit of humor into a more serious setting.

As his program went on, I knew immediately that the mainstream media along with all the "Yellow Dog Democrats" would attempt to make Clint Eastwood out to be an old man who really didn't realize what he was saying and that since his presentation was obviously an impromptu presentation that they would try to make him out to be ready for immediate entry into an Alzheimer's Clinic.

I actually thought his presentation was humorous and at the end he made a serious comment about the millions of unemployed people in our country and how sad that really was.

But of course I probably have a weird sense of humor BUT at least I do possess a sense of humor. Apparently the Democrats/Progressives/Moderates/Socialists possess the sense of humor equal to that of a Medieval Headsman. (For those of you residing in the People's Republic of San Francisco, a Medieval Headsman was one who chopped off the heads of those unfortunates given the death penalty during those times.)

Sure enough later on that evening we heard every liberal news mutt in America begin to bad mouth Clint Eastwood along with all the big wigs in the Democrat/Progressive/Socialist Party. After hearing their comments and recognizing the obvious fact that the "Empty Chair" was a metaphor for the "Empty Suit" description of the world's most articulate and intelligent human.

Then the thought crossed my mind that not only did these Liberal/Socialist/Democrat Vermin have no sense of humor but that their I.Q.'s must be just about equal to their hat size. (For those of you residing in the Freedom Loving Worker's Territory of Austin, that would be a single digit or perhaps a single digit with a fraction attached).

Then when I saw that Democrat Hack Ellis Henican and Geraldo Rivera were insulted, I knew I was absolutely correct. Henican even made the statement on a radio show interview that he thought Mr. Eastwood's comments were lewd.

I listened to a news report on a morning radio program which had a story that the Freedom From Religion Foundation had filed some type of lawsuit against a small local church in some state because the church had provided a meal for the local football team. Any questions about why this chicken shit outfit is on the Varmint List?

Also on a morning news program the report said that NEWSCORP which is owned by Rupert Murdoch which FOX News is a part of has up to that time donated $58,000 to Obama and $2,000 to Mitt Romney.

While on the subject of FOX News, one of their regular contributors is a young lady name Margaret Hoover. I believe I heard her say one time that she was a direct descendent of former President Herbert Hoover. Anyway she has a really high voice and speaks so fast that it is sometimes hard to understand her. I was watching something the other day and she spouted of a stream of stuff and it dawned on me that when she speaks it reminds me a whole lot of and argument between Chip 'n Dale the two chipmunks who cause Donald Duck problems in the old Walt Disney cartoons.

OK. Now for something really important, and I know that this will come a a shock to many of you:

Michael Jordan's live-in-girlfriend recently changed her political party affiliation from Republican to Independent. That was another extremely important news item from one of the morning news programs. My first thought was the Rhett Butler reaction.... "Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn."

I heard this quote from the world's most intelligent and articulate human, Barack Hussein Obama: "We can't all just drive our SUV's and eat what we want and expect the rest of the world to like it."

Hey Barack! With a clear conscience, I CAN drive my SUV and I CAN eat what I want and not give a damn whether or not the rest of the world likes it or not. I might worry about what my cardiologist thinks but not only don't I care what the rest of the world thinks... I don't give a crap what you or your criminal administration think.

I guess I will watch the Democrat/Progressive/Moderate/Socialist Convention tonight as former President Bill Clinton is to make a speech. I am curious as to just how he will make himself look good while subtly cutting Obama's throat.

Let us CLEAN HOUSE this November and I mean CLEAN THE SENATE, THE HOUSE and the WHITE HOUSE. Let us all hope and pray that Congressman Allen West gets re-elected. He and a few more are worth keeping.

Greetings once more from the Association Of West Texas Fossil Fuel Burning Vast Right Wing Jingoistic Conspiratorial Firearms Owners.

I imagine that most of you will find it damn near impossible to believe that I am actually in AGREEMENT with an editorial earlier this week in the (Sub) Standard Times. Trust me when I tell you that it is a rather strange feeling to be on the same page with the normally left wing liberal editorial staff of this news paper. But this week there was an editorial headline which read "KEEP U.N.'s HANDS OFF THE INTERNET".

The article went on to explain that a group of nations, led by the usual suspects - China and Russia - and joined shamefully by Brazil and India, are planning to try to amend the U.N.'s International Telecommunication Union treaty, in order to bring the Internet under a U.N. agency. Now while I am in agreement with the (Sub) Standard Times on being against this particular move, what really surprised me was that the (Sub) Standard Times editorial staff suggested, in their last paragraph, an action which I strongly believe is the right way to go, and here is their suggestion: "BUT IF THE TREATY PASSES, WE SHOULD IGNORE IT ON THE VERY GOOD GROUNDS THAT IT VIOLATES OUR FIRST AMENDMENT." IGNORE IT? Sounds right to me.

So, if we can ignore that U.N. Treaty due to it being a violation of our First Amendment Rights, then we can in turn, IGNORE everything with which we don't agree that is U.N. based.

There have been any number of items which came to my attention this past week which I thought warranted mention, so here they come.

1) NBA Players and former players seem to be reading from the same script and trying to pass it off as some real inside basketball savvy information. Here is an example when one of these master-minds is asked what a certain team must do to win.

Now each of these experts may not name all of these exciting observations on how the game of basketball should be played but at some point in time all of them will be covered. I am sure I left a few out but those I listed I have heard from any number of so called experts. Now I can understand one of the coaches making these inane observations when speaking with one of the token divas who always seem to want to know about how a coach feels about his team getting their asses handed to them and what that coach has in his plans for the second half.

2) Some doof named Skip Kilmer wrote an editorial column in the (Sub) Standard Times in which he attacked a Catholic Bishop regarding an article the Bishop had written on the subject of abortion and how the Catholic Church was against many of the requirements of Obama Care. In his article, Kilmer refers to an unborn infant as a "fertilized human egg". And of course no article written by someone who considers SCIENCE as his God must necessarily cast doubt on there being anything even resembling a "human soul" because it was not covered in his science training. He compares, in his own words, the "embryo" behaving in a manner consistent with ants, flatworms, mushrooms and algae strands insofar as being something living.

And as a scientist, he is bothered by the "INEFFICIENCY OF HUMAN CONCEPTION", "PARTICULARLY SEEING THAT WE ARE RAPIDLY CONSUMING THE REMAINING NATURAL RESOURCES THROUGH OVERPOPULATION."

I have one question from this man of science. If human conception is all that INEFFICIENT, why is there a problem with OVERPOPULATION? Seems to me as if human conception has been fairly efficient up to this point.

3) Here are a few items brought out by members of the Democrat/Progressive/Moderate/Socialist bunch of boobs this past week:

a) House Minority Leader NANCY PELOSI (D-CA) said that the 43 Catholic institutions -- including the Archdiocese of Washington, D.C. and the Archdiocese of New York -- that are suing the Obama Administration over its regulation mandating that all health-care plans must cover sterilizations, contraceptives and abortifacients ARE NOT SPEAKING FOR THE CATHOLIC CHURCH. OK, Nancy, I'll bite -- just who are they representing? Perhaps Ol' Bug Eyed Nancy and scientist Skip Kilmer should get together.

b) Former Pennsylvania Democrat Governor Ed Rendell made a statement on a CBS news program regarding the EXECUTIVE EXPERIENCE gap between Hillary Clinton and Barack Hussein Obama. He said, "I think she would have come in with a lot more executive experience. I think the president was hurt by being a legislator only." If anyone knows, please let me know about any "Executive Experience" Hillary Clinton has at the present OR any other point in history. Hey! Wait a Minute! Could Ed Rendell be counting that time in her life when she was in charge of the flying monkeys? Oh, wait a minute, that wasn't Hillary, was it?? Wasn't it Hillary who said the famous line, "I'll get you my pretty. And your little dog too?" Perhaps not, but there are some amazing similarities.

c) Now here is one I am sure we can all believe. Attorney General, Eric Holder told a Congressional Panel that E-Mails using the words "Fast and Furious" did not refer to the controversial gun-walking Operation Fast and Furious. He said they referred to a previous gun-walking operation known as Wide-Receiver which was operated by the Bush Administration. I can understand how this could happen since WIDE-RECEIVER and FAST-AND-FURIOUS sound so much alike. Surely Eric Holder couldn't be lying, could he?

4) Finally, it came to my attention that the Varmint List had grown much longer than the Prayer List. So I wiped it out and started out fresh with a new Varmint List. At least in the beginning it will be much shorter but with all the vermin in Washington, D.C. and around the country I feel sure it will achieve Rapid Growth. So I have begun the New Varmint List with those whom I detest the most. It is by no stretch of the imagination going to stay at that number.

Last week end I watched a program on the "Animal Planet". I am sure the "Animal Planet" is owned and operated by Liberals/Moderates/Progressives/Democrats as their programming has taken a nose dive over the past few years. I have mentioned before a program entitled "Whale Wars" where a group of people with access to way too much money and have way too much idle time on their hands and their entire lives are dedicated to interrupting the whaling industry or interrupt countries who depend upon whales for their food. These people have no problem at all violating existing laws and causing serious damage to the property of others. Now while I am not a huge fan of killing whales, I realize that there are legal means by which whales may be harvested for any number of reasons.

Well these idiot occupants of the good ships, Steve Irwin; Bob Barker; and Brigit Bardot have taken up another cause which is to save the seals. And the title of this program is strangely enough, Seal Wars. Their methods are pretty much the same, however, the location of their first Seal War was the Skeleton Coast in the African Nation of Namibia.

Namibia is bounded on the North by Angola; on the East by Botswana; and on the South by South Africa. On the beaches of the Skeleton Coast each year there are a huge number of seals which come to that location to have their calves and to make more calves, I would imagine. Anyway there is an industry there which kills a certain number of these seals for their hides and for their meat. As with the whales, I am not mad at the seals and can do without seal skin clothing and seal meat, but the point is, it is a legal industry.

These idiots were doing nothing more than photographing the seal hunters and photographing the unloading of seal carcasses at the processing plant. All fairly innocent, right? Evidently not according to the Namibian government who basically told them to cut it out and leave which of course these daring modern day knights refused to do. But when the going seemed to be getting a bit tough, they bailed out big time. They did take their information and photos to some international environmental group who basically laughed them out of the room.

These idiots had better stick to harassing the Japanese whalers as it seems as if the Namibian dudes are ready to play a little rougher.

I also watched the Stanley Cup Championship Series between the Los Angeles Kings and the New Jersey Devils. It went six games with Los Angeles winning the series 4 games to 2. All of the games were tough but Los Angeles was a team who was seeded eighth at the beginning of the Cup series and they knocked off most of the top dogs to win the championship.

I know it seems a bit unusual for someone in West Texas to be a hockey fan but I got interested in ice hockey in the mid 1960's when Houston had a team, The Apollos, in the Central Hockey League. They were a farm team of the Montreal Canadiens who have been on top of the NHL for many years.

Anyway, Ice Hockey is fairly close to football insofar as speed and hitting and my youngest grandson plays hockey, so that's good enough for me.

A couple of days ago I received a Father's Day Card from our daughter. Of course her handwritten note to me made my day. On the face of the card was a photograph of Roy Rogers, who was always one of my favorites, and of course she knew that. But on the back of the card were Roy Rogers Rules and while they were written for young people, I thought that they not only said a great deal about Roy but also were pretty good rules to live by:

Now I know that this is straight out of the 1940's and I know it was meant for kids but they are pretty darn good rules. Look around you and see how many of today's elected officials and professional athletes and movie stars obey even a few of these rules.

Unfortunately many Americans are too busy: Idolizing talented people; Tweeting on Twitter; Worrying about Tiger's game; or Keeping up with the Kardashians. I don't do any of those things and am pretty happy.
