 Defeating Obama
** PLEASE DESCRIBE THIS IMAGE **

Andy Stevens
December 18, 2011

Defeating Barak Obama in 2012 will be no small undertaking. He is supported by a huge network ofWebmaster picture established and extremely well-funded support groups. Mr. Obama possesses a charming personality and charismatic presence. With or without the help of "teleprompter", he has the ability to eloquently articulate his position and viewpoint. In short Barak Obama is a consummate politician.

His lips move as he flitters accross the stage and across the nation as he promises "free ice cream" along with hope and changed thinly veiled in socialism. Watch what he does, not what he says.

The actual fact and truth diametrically oppose his rhetoric.

The truth is verifiable and statistics belie the fact that in less than three short years Barak Obama and the Democratic Party have done more to destroy our Nation than all of the previous administrations to date. Our sovereignty is in shambles, both at a state and international level. The "Law of Gravity" has superseded and replaced "Economics 101" leaving the fruit of our economic infrastructure and resources a rotting heap on the ground. Personal responsibility and accountability have become generational dinosaurs which compromise our liberties and freedoms on a daily basis.

The candidate who faces Obama in the political arena must be equally charismatic. They must be able to identify and present our social and economic problems and have the ability to eloquently articulate those visions and solutions in a logical and comprehensive manner. Our candidate must be a dynamic speaker who is able to convey their faith in our history, God, Country and the Constitution with passionate resolve. That candidate must be able to debate the great Obama, mano-mano and completely dissect his narcissistic platform and logic.

The candidate who arrives at the head of the pack will also become the target and victim of good old Chicago style politics and the liberal press. They will be incessantly hounded by the George Soros funded Obama support groups and the gentlemanly "Rules for Radicals" founded by Saul Alinsky who's basic premise is to attack and belittle the values of the opposition simply because they're fragile and hard to live up to. The other Alinsky weapon of choice is to instill ridicule by attacking personal values.

Acorn, I'm sure, will be predominantly in this mix somewhere.

We won't arrive at a "picture perfect" candidate… there isn't one. Life is a journey of trial and error and I can assure you that he who is without error has not made a very long journey. Each of us has arrived at our present station in life through the steps we've taken. The important measure is that of who we are, right here, right now.

It's my opinion that any candidate in the GOP primaries would better serve our nation than the one who now holds office but in order to win the election we will need someone who has more than a desire, someone who will not stumble and falter under pressure, someone who is not so far right to the point of isolationism and someone who can take the flack without floundering. Someone who can take the fight directly to President Obama and come away leaving him wanting.

My first hopeful prior to the primaries was Sarah Palin. My chips were on Newt Gingrich during the primaries although I had great respect for each of the other GOP candidates. This respect extends to Mitt Romney whom I readily support and offer my services. Read "On Romney's Character" below.

Meet Mitt Romney
Romney and  Ryan at Red Rocks

On Romney's character....

I
n the essence of fair play, it is correct to give credit where credit is due. In the words of George Walker Bush, "Character is everything." Relative to Mitt Romney the following speaks volumes.Romney pic The following has been verified and fact checked.

Sometimes, this facet of Romney's personality isn't so subtle. In July 1996, the 14-year-old daughter of Robert Gay, a partner at Bain Capital, had disappeared. She had attended a rave party in New York City and gotten high on ecstasy. Three days later, her distraught father had no idea where she was. Romney took immediate action. He closed down the entire firm and asked all 30 partners and employees to fly to New York to help find Gay's daughter. Romney set up a command center at the LaGuardia Marriott and hired a private detective firm to assist with the search. He established a toll-free number for tips, coordinating the effort with the NYPD, and went through his Rolodex and called everyone Bain did business with in New York, and asked them to help find his friend's missing daughter. Romney's accountants at Price Waterhouse Cooper put up posters on street poles, while cashiers at a pharmacy owned by Bain put fliers in the bag of every shopper. Romney and the other Bain employees scoured every part of New York and talked with everyone they could - prostitutes, drug addicts - anyone.

That day, their hunt made the evening news, which featured photos of the girl and the Bain employees searching for her. As a result, a teenage boy phoned in, asked if there was a reward, and then hung up abruptly. The NYPD traced the call to a home in New Jersey, where they found the girl in the basement, shivering and experiencing withdrawal symptoms from a massive ecstasy dose. Doctors later said the girl might not have survived another day. Romney's former partner credits Mitt Romney with saving his daughter's life, saying, "It was the most amazing thing, and I'll never forget this to the day I die."

So, here's my epiphany: Mitt Romney simply can't help himself. He sees a problem, and his mind immediately sets to work solving it, sometimes consciously, and sometimes not-so-consciously. He doesn't do it for self-aggrandizement, or for personal gain. He does it because that's just how he's wired.

Many people are unaware of the fact that when Romney was asked by his old employer, Bill Bain, to come back to Bain & Company as CEO to rescue the firm from bankruptcy, Romney left Bain Capital to work at Bain & Company for an annual salary of one dollar. When Romney went to the rescue of the 2002 Salt Lake Olympics, he accepted no salary for three years, and wouldn't use an expense account. He also accepted no salary as Governor of Massachusetts.

Note: The line about the Olympics is technically true in that although he received $1.5 Million in compensation, he donated it all to social/charity projects.

Character counts!!

Koster banner

As a businessman and public servant, John Koster has the right experience to represent the 1st Congressional District. John was a three term State Representative in Olympia, where he earned a reputation as a budget hawk and a fiscal watchdog. During his time in the legislature, John was responsible for organizing the Washington Conservative Caucus, where he worked with other legislators to lower taxes, cut spending, and eliminate excessive regulations.

Click here to view a map of the newly drawn Washington State congressional districts.

More on John Koster....

Koster Statement Regarding Primary Election

John Koster is an advocate of free markets and free enterprise. He is a proponent of job creation in the private sector and wants to rein in the rule making of the regulatory agencies, streamline unnecessary processes, and eliminate duplicative and antiquated regulation. He favors tax reform that would close loopholes and lower rates to stimulate the economy, and believes federal government must stop spending money it doesn't have.  Going into November, voters in Washington State's 1st Congressional districtwill have a clear contrast in the candidates they ultimately choose to represent them in the United States Congress.

PrimaryElectionNight2
John Koster celebrates primary win with supporters

"What we need now is real job creation in the private sector. We need to unshackle the American economy from job killing regulatory burdens and a punitive tax structure that stifles private investment and market confidence. We simply cannot revive the world's greatest economy by growing government beyond the point the free market can bear", said Koster.

Throughout the primary election, Suzan DelBene has proudly advocated the continuance of the same "progressive" policies that have been a trademark of the Obama Administration: Government-run health care, trillion dollar deficits, taxpayer funded "stimulus" programs and bailouts - "which have 'stimulated' nothing but our national debt," said Koster.

Ironically, DelBene has spent 2.3 million of her personal fortune (estimated at $53 million) campaigning as a champion of the middle class, while supporting heavy taxation on small businesses and elitist environmental policies. She opposes major construction projects, like the Keystone XL Pipeline, that would provide America with more energy independence and thousands of family wage, blue collar jobs.

The Seattle Times editorial board endorses Rob McKenna, Republican, for governor of Washington.

Seattle Times Editorial

WASHINGTON state is at a crossroads. The people's selection of their next governor will set a direction toward prosperity and quality of life or constant crisis and decline. Washington will follow California - or set its own course.

The voters' choice is clear.

Today marks the end of a more than two-year journey to decide the constitutionality of the individual health insurance mandate in the national health care law passed in 2010.

Over two years ago, Attorney General Rob McKenna stood up for the Constitution, in a fight against what he saw as an unprecedented federal power grab. Rob chose to put our Constitution ahead of the lobbyists and special interest groups which pushed for the individual mandate for policy reasons, but were not concerned with the legality of this new law.

The U.S. Supreme Court ended this long fight with its ruling today that indeed the individual mandate was not allowed under the Commerce Clause. This, along with the ruling that the federal government could not force states to expand their Medicaid programs, was a victory for federalism.

In anticipation of the primary, this week we will be emailing you with information regarding those candidates the Washington State Republican Party has endorsed for office. You may also find more information on all of the Republican candidates on our website.

James Watkins is the only Republican candidate running for Washington State Auditor, and the WSRP has endorsed James’ campaign. James and his wife Ashley have been married for 27 years and they have two children. They are active members of their Church and community, and live in Redmond, Washington.

Watkins is the only candidate who actually does performance audits and assessments for a living. Since earning his MBA in International Business with a finance emphasis, James has personally led teams completing more than 150 performance audits and assessments which analyzed and improved operations, technology, services, strategy, and revenue for his clients and employers.

During his career, he has helped save billions at the FDIC; increased productivity, cut costs, and reduced employee turnover at a database publishing company; doubled sales and decreased unplanned employee turnover to zero at a professional services firm; and has helped hundreds of small businesses grow and prosper. James has the knowledge, intelligence, integrity, and experience to get the job done for Washington state.

To learn more about James Watkins and our other candidates, please visit the candidates page on our website.

This is the most important election in years; our time has finally come to take back our state! Time for a rational voice

As a small business owner, I see our state becoming less competitive and lacking focus on how to create jobs. As an experienced job creator, I have a realistic perspective on how to set the stage for job growth. Jobs are created by healthy, growingJohn Swapp photo private sector employers. Right now, Washington State is a very difficult place for employers; workers compensation costs and minimum wage are the highest in the country. Employment security costs are third highest. The rate of business failure is the 8th highest in the country. Employers look at Washington as an expensive, and worse, very unpredictable place to grow. We are highly regulated and in many ways; many of the costs of such regulation are not often seen by most voters, but these regulatory costs are enough to make employers here uncompetitive with employers in other states or countries.

Our schools are failing to give our students the tools they need to succeed and we rank 37th in the nation in graduation rate. We need serious reform in Olympia.

I will listen, respect the opinions of others, and work with everyone, regardless of party, to find solutions.

Kirk Pearson  •  Senate 39th District StarStarStarStar    Click on banner to visit Website

1.) What are the three biggest issues facing Skagit County, and what are your proposed solutions?

Job creation: Skagit County has an unemployment rate of 9.9 percent; this is up from last year’s 9.2 percent. I firmly believe if we want vibrant communities that can support local safety net programs, public safety and our local schools, we must enact policies that get people back to work. I have consistently supported measures in the Legislature that would streamline project permitting, lessen the complexity of business taxes and regulations and reform our costly and inefficient workers’ compensation system. Giving employers the certainty they need to invest and create jobs must be our top priority.

Public safety: As Republican leader on public safety issues, I will continue to fight against any attempts to release violent felons out of prison early to balance to budget. I will support measures to help our local law enforcement do their job to the best of their ability which, in turn, makes our communities safer.

Education: I will always work to empower our local school districts by fighting against any attempt to reduce levy equalization funding, which is vital for our rural schools in Skagit County. Also, I will seek council from our superintendents, principals, and teachers to see what works best to ensure success in the education of our children.

2.) What is your position on the Gateway Pacific Terminal north of Bellingham that would bring an anticipated 18 additional train trips through Skagit County — and other areas — a day? And if the project is approved, what kind of mitigation or protections would be necessary for portions of the state that will be directly affected?

I have followed this issue with interest and believe the issues created by the Gateway Pacific Terminal must be worked through fully before anything moves forward. There are concerns that businesses would be impacted due to congestion created by longer waits for trains. The increased number of trains and wait times could also impact our marine highways, which are the lifeblood of our island communities. There are also questions about health risks associated with the proposed trains.

All these issues are significant and need to be worked through fully, and with solid science and data, before moving forward. That said, I also believe we need to consider the job creation aspect would go along with the terminal and weigh the benefits and concerns equally.

3.) What needs to be done to strengthen our area’s economy and generate more jobs?

As I go around the 39th Legislative District, small-business owners tell me they want state agencies to work as a partner, not an adversary. Each year, state agencies adopt thousands of new rules and regulations that employers must comply with. Not all of these new rules are clear and understandable.

I support measures that allow business owners working in good faith and not putting their employees in harm’s way, a brief reprieve to comply with the rules before a fine is issued. This will give employers the ability to get the assistance they need to comply with new rules and regulations and go about their business and do what they do best — create jobs.

I also believe the state capital budget must be protected.

I believe Washington’s best days are ahead. We have an unprecedented opportunity this year to change the direction of government. It’s my hope that we can seize that opportunity while it is available to us now so that we can create a better quality of life for us, our children and our grandchildren, by getting back to the ideals that made us great, such as limited government, balanced budgets, private property rights, personal control in health care, quality education, strong transportation infrastructure, a healthy economy that encourages job creation and growth, and the principle that government serves the people -- people do not serve the government.

I am grateful for your friendship and encouragement, and I thank you in advance for your support.

About Ron Wesen

Ron Wesen, 53, is a 4th generation dairy farmer and businessman. Three generations of the extended Wesen family operate an organic dairy and a Centennial dairy farm in the Bow-Edison area. Ron met his wife Jan at college where they each earned degrees before returning to the Wesen Farm. They have been happily married 30 years.

Ron Wesen has risen to a leadership role in every organization in which he has served beginning in high school. He has had the opportunity to represent and advocate for our agricultural community in both Olympia and Washington, D.C. World-wide travel has given him valuable perspective about how our Skagit values and quality of life can be sustained as our community grows and changes.

A Leader in the Making

Ron Wesen is a 1977 graduate of Burlington-Edison High School where he was elected Associated Student Body Vice President and President of his Senior Class. During high school, he served as President of the Burlington Chapter of the Future Farmers of America and as FFA District 1 President. Ron also joined the Washington Holstein Association and was later honored with the Young Breeder Award in 1988.

Ron Wesen graduated from California Polytechnic State University, San Louis Obispo, in 1981 with a Bachelor of Science degree. While there, he served as President of the Dairy Club. Even with a challenging college schedule, Ron also earned an FFA American Farmer Degree in 1980.

He furthered his education through acceptance to the Ag/Forestry Leadership Program Class 22. This in-depth two-year program is designed to develop natural resource industry leaders in Washington State as part of a national program network. The curriculum focuses on industry issues and in the first year, closely examines how local, state and federal governments function; the second year explores international issues and provides an opportunity to travel and interface with foreign industry and government leaders.

Ron Wesen has frequently traveled to other states to examine different ideas and issues impacting people and to assess how they approach solutions. He has also traveled extensively in Europe, South America, Australia, Mexico and Cuba - studying these countries’ governments, cultures, agricultural systems, and trade policies.

Dedicated to Leadership

Ron Wesen has been fully involved in the family dairy operation with his parents and three brothers since 1982. Despite this firm commitment to farming, Ron continues on the leadership path begun in high school and still serves the Skagit community in many ways.

Ron Wesen is a tireless advocate for property rights and preserving our natural resource based industries. He represents property owners, the dairy industry, and Skagit County agriculture at the local, state and national levels in a variety of capacities:

Drainage & Irrigation District 16- Commissioner,
Skagit County Dairy Federation- President,
Skagit County Farm Bureau- Past President,
Washington State Dairy Federation- Secretary/Treasurer,
American Farm Bureau Federation Dairy Advisory Committee, and
Pioneers in Conservation Technical Review Committee.

Community Service

In addition to the activities listed above, Ron has a record of serving the broader Skagit community on important issues.

Ron Wesen has served as President of both the Burlington-Edison School District Vocational Advisory Committee and the Ag Vocational Advisors Committee. He was also part of the Facilities Evaluation Committee for the district.

Ron participates in the monthly Skagit Ag Leaders’ Breakfast meeting where the many Skagit agricultural organizations share information and discuss approaches to community challenges.

From 2003 to 2005, Ron Wesen participated in the Ag Fish Tribal Summit. This process ended with a consensus agreement between the agricultural community and the Swinomish Tribe surrounding land use and salmon habitat issues.

Ron is an elected Commissioner for Skagit County Drainage and Irrigation District 16. (a special taxing district) In this capacity, he and his fellow commissioners oversee the maintenance, operation and finances of the drainage infrastructure serving the district’s landowners and farmers.

Baumgartner: Cantwell = Bad for Economy and Jobs
Posted On 2012-06-26 11:21:08

http://www.examiner.com/article/baumgartner-cantwell-bad-for-economy-and-jobs

State Senator and US Senate candidate Michael Baumgartner blasted his opponent, liberal Senator Maria Cantwell, today at a campaign stop in Gig Harbor. He criticized Cantwell’s opposition to unsubsidized private sector energy jobs in the US. Cantwell opposed energy companies being permitted to invest and create jobs in ANWR and encouraged them to invest their funds in other countries such as Brazil.

Baumgartner endorses the permitting building of the Keystone pipeline. Cantwell’s opposition to the pipeline is costing the country tens of thousands of family wage jobs in the energy sector.

Cantwell has opposed the development of energy resources on Bureau of Land Management (BLM) land despite the possibility of tens of thousands of family wage jobs. Baumgartner favors the environmentally prudent development of these resources.

Cantwell’s policies have kept our dependency on foreign oil and our unemployment and gas prices high. Baumgartner’s approach is to develop more of our own energy resources. He believes this will increase investment in our energy sector, increase the amount of taxes paid by the energy sector, reduce our dependence on foreign oil, reduce energy prices for both gas and electricity and increase the number of family jobs in the energy sector.

Baumgartner believes lower energy prices would encourage manufacturing jobs to move back to the US and increase employment. Higher employment would help increase tax revenue and reduce federal government spending as well as the deficit. All of this improves our strategic position with respect to the world in general and OPEC in particular.

Baumgartner’s policy prescriptions are in stark contrast to Cantwell’s and he intends to make this point as frequently as possible.

United States

U.S. Senator
Partisan Office, 6-year term

Michael Baumgartner
(Prefers Republican Party)

Elected Experience: Washington State Senator, 2010 - present

Other Professional Experience: Mike was an economic development consultant and former diplomat who advised international and Northwest firms. In 2007 Mike served as an Economics Officer at the US Embassy in Baghdad, earning commendations from General Petraeus and Ambassador Crocker. In 2009 he worked on a State Department-contracted counternarcotics program in Afghanistan, helping farmers grow wheat.

Education: Gonzaga Prep, Pullman High; WSU - BA, Economics (1999); Harvard - MPA, International Development (2002).

Community Service: Mike served as a Jesuit volunteer in Mozambique in 1999. He is a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Statement: Michael Baumgartner left a successful career in international development to help his country in Iraq and Afghanistan. Then, he challenged and defeated an entrenched incumbent and won election to the State Senate.

As a State Senator, Michael has shown he can work with both parties to find pragmatic solutions, balance budgets, reform government spending and improve education. He sponsored legislation to protect higher education funding and prevent further cutbacks.

Michael has the background, experience, and common sense necessary to be an outstanding U.S. Senator. He is endorsed by Senator Slade Gorton, Attorney General Rob McKenna, Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers, Secretary of State Sam Reed, and Representative Cary Condotta. More important, Michael is supported by hundreds of Washington small business owners, veterans, and educators. Michael and his wife Eleanor have a young son, Conrad, and are expecting another child this year.

"I love Washington. I was born and raised here, the son of two educators. After studying at WSU and Harvard, my economic development career took me around the world. Washington's wonderful, natural environment and friendly, innovative people make it the best place in the world.

"Now, America is struggling. In the past 12 years, reckless spending and poorly planned wars have helped double the national debt and millions don't have jobs. Too many politicians care more about special interests than finding solutions. The US Senate hasn't passed a budget in more than three years. DC is broken.

"I want to help turn things around, here and overseas. I've seen firsthand the progress our troops have made in Afghanistan against amazing odds. Now it's time to bring them home and concentrate on rebuilding our economy. Our children should inherit a thriving America - not one in debt and decline. I'd be honored to have your vote. We've got work to do."

Chuck Jackson
(Prefers Republican Party)

Elected Experience: Never elected to public office

Other Professional Experience: Merchant Mariner, been working on ships for over 30 years, Alaska and Washington ferries, tankers hauling crude oil out of Alaska, Container ships to Hawaii and the Far East, Licensed United State Coast Guard Engineer, work out of the MEBA hall, spent 4 years in the Navy.

Education: University of H.K.; Hawse-piper

Community Service: No information submitted

Statement: The kids and grandkids inheritance $15,700,000,000,000 ($15.7 trillion)DEBT. When the incumbent first went to Washington D.C. the National Debt was $4,188,092,106,183. Over the last 30 years the people of the United States have paid $9,500,000,000,000 (9.5 trillion) interest (usury) on this Debt; last year $454,000,000,000 was spent covering interest. When the Federal Reserve Bank doubles the interest rates, payment will double from $454 Billion to $908 Billion.

We have a serious problem; the postponement of dealing with this over the years has left the United States in a precarious financial situation. I don't have a SuperPac or millions of dollars; just Voters pamphlets, website and hopefully your involvement, (facebook, twitter, dialog with friends and neighbors) the only possible way to stop this train-wreck.

"As a very important source of strength and security, cherish public credit. One method of preserving it is, to use it as sparingly as possible..." President Washington

Potholes, bridges and other infrastructure could have been repaired had the public credit been cherished instead of squandered.

"I place economy among the first and most important virtues, and public debt as the greatest of dangers to be feared. To preserve our independence, we must not let our rulers load us with perpetual debt. If we run into such debt, we must be taxed in our meat and drink, in our necessities and in our comforts, in our labor and in our amusements. If we can prevent the government from wasting the labor of the people, under the pretense of caring for them, they will be happy," President Jefferson

We, the borrowers, are slaves to the lenders; austerity measures that will be forced on U.S. will pale in comparison to what has been forced on Greece, if this financial mess continues.

Art Coday
(Prefers Republican Party)

Cody banner
Elected Experience:
None

Other Professional Experience: Art spent six years in biochemical and heart research. As a medical doctor he does house calls and nursing home care, mainly for Medicare (seniors, permanently disabled), Medicaid (very poor), and uninsured patients.

Education: Art graduated from the Lakeside School, the University of Washington (B.S. in Cellular and Molecular Biology; with college honors, magna cum laude), and Harvard Medical School (M.D.).

Community Service: Art volunteered at the Seattle Children's Hospital Summer Camp for six years, working with children with special medical needs. He served on nonprofit boards, including three years for the North Seattle Christian School, as Treasurer and President.

Statement: As a doctor, I fight for my patients. As your senator, I will fight for you.

Patient financial hardship and insurance status do not stop me from caring. To accept low reimbursements, I reduced cost by eliminating my office; now I make house calls. Effective healthcare reform is needed, so let's repeal the healthcare act my opponent supported; it harms Medicare and Medicaid and raises cost. Let's rebuild Medicare, Medicaid, and the VHA for our seniors, poor, disabled, and veterans. In the private market, let's demand transparency, fairness, and competition so you're in charge of affordable care.

Cutting spending, balancing the budget, reducing debt, and ending inflation will repair our national credit and stabilize the economy. As a small business owner, I know that easing regulatory burdens and mandates, enacting favorable trade policies, and lowering energy costs will stimulate the economy. This will restore the catastrophic loss of prosperity and American jobs sustained throughout my opponent's 12-year tenure.

I will defend your rights, including your right to keep and bear arms, the right to life, and property rights. I support traditional family values. We must maintain the world's finest military to achieve peace through strength. We must take good care of our veterans and military personnel, and have a foreign policy that's confidently pro-America and pro-liberty, supports allies like Israel, and is firmly resolved to defeat terrorism. Border security is vital. My opponent won't challenge her party boss on numerous issues, like transferring nuclear waste from Hanford to Yucca Mountain; I will.

The contrast between the incumbent and me is sharp; the record, not the rhetoric, proves this. I am passionate about America, and with the right leadership, our children will have a bright future.

Thank you for your trust and your vote. Serving you will be an honor.

Statement: John Koster grew up on a dairy farm in Snohomish County where his parents instilled in him a strong work ethic, honesty, and responsibility. They taught him the value of a dollar and to be loyal to his family, his faith, his community, and his country.

An independent thinker and trusted leader, John is deeply concerned that our children and grandchildren will not have the same opportunities as his generation. As your representative in Congress, John will work tirelessly to roll back runaway government growth and spending. He will work to remove unnecessary regulatory encumbrances placed on small businesses which have caused the economy to sour while double-digit unemployment rates have become commonplace.

There are fundamental differences between John Koster and liberals in Congress who believe they should continue to borrow money from China then tax you heavily to provide more government bailouts! John believes in balanced budgets and, if elected, will work diligently for the passage of a balanced budget amendment.

John Koster will stand against the immoral practice of piling unconscionable debt upon future generations. His top priority as your congressman will be to put people back to work and get the economy back on track.

John will oppose efforts to put a government bureaucrat between you and your doctor and supports a repeal and replacement of "ObamaCare" with free market systems that will drive health care costs downward. John believes Congress should move forward with a fairer, simpler tax system which would generate the revenue we need to fund a smaller, less wasteful federal government.

John Koster believes our nation's economy can be great once again, but only if we are willing to take dramatic steps to reign in the regulatory agencies and unleash the job-creating power of the American free enterprise system.

The future demands that we take that chance today. I urge you to take that chance and vote for me. I'll get the job done.

Statement: I believe our country is on the wrong course: If we continue in this direction, our economy will become weaker; more of us will lose our jobs, homes, healthcare and pensions. My opponent - a long-term incumbent Congressman - has spent twelve years in Washington, D.C. taking us down this path. Simply put, he's among the entrenched politicians who got us into this mess.

Change is overdue. With Your Vote, we will change course together - carefully and constructively - securing a safe future for citizens of all ages, especially our children.

I will work hard for you - offering professional problem-solving over political partisanship. I commit to represent You - not special interests. I am a Citizen Candidate with this commitment: "I will listen to you." We need strong representation. You can always say: "Dan Matthews is one of us - a Trusted Leader."

My Congressional Goals: Focus on Jobs; Lower Energy costs; Cut Wasteful Spending; Balanced Budget; Reduce National Debt; Maintain a strong National Defense; Limit govenment's size; Flatter - fairer taxes; Reform America's broken Entitlement Programs; Honor our commitments to Medicare, Social Security recipients and especially Veterans (Active, Retired); Reduce Federal Regulations and intrusion; Encourage Business and job growth; Enhance Education, Energy, Environmental and Economic Security. I advocate Big Citizens and small government - trusting you exercising your liberties more than I trust bureaucrats and politicians. I believe in: Personal Responsibility over personal entitlement. As a fiscal conservative, I ask: "What is the proper role of the federal government? What is the responsibility of the individual? Can we afford this?"

John C. W. Shoop
(Prefers The Republican Party)

Elected Experience: Candidate Washington House 38th District 1994

Other Professional Experience: United States Marine Corps, Intelligence Analyst and Unattended Ground Surveillance Operations 1968-1974. Google:; "Igloo White" Civilian Career; Radio, TV, record and film production, inspirational speaker, teacher, author, newspaper editor, publisher, and Middle East Analyst. Community Service: Spearheaded restoration project to save The Music Hall, in Seattle, 1987. Advisory Board, Bethany Christian Assembly, Board of Directors, Pathways for Women, Exalted Ruler, Everett Elks.

Statement: Government is too big, taxes too high, we are loosing our freedoms, our military has been gutted. We, as a nation are in serious trouble. We are in a moral decline. After the Presidential sanction of Same Sex Marriage followed closely by the endorsement of our Congressman that is clear. Our moral compass is so far out of whack Americans don't know North from right nor left from down.

I believe we have to return this great Nation to the dream of our founding Fathers, built on Judeo-Christian values and belief in our God given rights. In spite of recent events we can still be that Nation.

I believe Government has run amuck with over regulation. Mr. Shoop has owned, salvaged, built and sold several small businesses and understands where the real support for our Government comes from. Small business creates more jobs and is the true source of the greater tax base .

I believe in lower taxes. Less taxes means you have the freedom to do more with your money, simple. I believe in a stronger military. We need to pay sustainable wages for our military. It is a disgrace that our soldiers who defend our Nation, have to put their families on food stamps to survive. A vote for John C. W. Shoop is a vote for less government, lower taxes, more freedom and a stronger military in order to make America the beacon of Liberty it was meant to be.

Jaime Herrera Beutler

(Prefers Republican Party)

Elected Experience: I've been fighting for Southwest Washington families and small businesses in Congress since 2010. My focus is on economic recovery, protecting seniors, and fighting against government waste and overspending. From 2007-2010, I served in the Washington State House of Representatives.

Other Professional Experience: I was a Senior Legislative Aide to U.S. Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers. I also worked my way through college, learning the value of hard work.

Education: B.A., University of Washington, Communications

Community Service: I volunteered in New York City following 9/11, and also with the Starbucks' children's literacy program, elderly care facilities, juvenile detention centers, park restorations and after-school programs.

Statement: I ask for your vote so I can keep fighting for you in Congress. From day one as your U.S. Representative, serving the families and communities of Southwest Washington has remained my mission. I've listened to you, and I've stood up to both political parties including my own when it's necessary to put the needs of families and communities here first.

Bringing jobs back to Southwest Washington is priority one. I'm fighting to make job creation easier, removing red tape and barriers to job growth. I've led Congressional efforts to help our wood products industry and protect manufacturing jobs. I've fought for solutions to empower small businesses to grow and hire. And I won't let up; we must get Southwest Washington's economy growing and people back to work.

I fight to make government accountable to you. I am your watchdog on government bureaucracy. When an agency oversteps its mission or ignores the will of the community, I act to make sure it works as our servant, and not our master. I also helped pass a strong safeguard against insider trading in Congress into law, because elected officials should never put personal profit before serving people.

Doc Hastings
(Prefers Republican Party)

Elected Experience: Serving as the common sense voice of those who call Central Washington home. As the Chairman of the Natural Resources Committee, Hastings protects our dams from extremists seeking their removal, oversees federal irrigation water projects vital to local farmers, the region's agriculture-dependent economy and thousands of jobs. Member of Rural Healthcare Coalition, and Chairman of Nuclear Cleanup Caucus.

Other Professional Experience: Small businessman: operated family business in Pasco for nearly three decades.

Education: Attended Columbia Basin College and Central Washington University.

Community Service: Lives in Pasco with wife Claire, is the father of three, and proud grandfather of eight.

Statement: With record national debt, high unemployment and the cost of gas, food and healthcare rising, it's time for Congress to end wasteful Washington spending and enact common sense solutions that create real jobs and produce real results.

Bigger government, more spending and higher taxes won't get our country back on track. I opposed the stimulus spending and every bailout. I voted to repeal the trillion-dollar government takeover of your healthcare in order to protect the ability of families and individuals to make decisions with their own doctor, rather than have decisions made by unelected bureaucrats in Washington, DC. ObamaCare must be replaced with solutions that lower costs, increase your choices and protect Medicare.

We need fiscal discipline to help revive our economy. We must protect hardworking taxpayers, small businesses and job creators from government mandates and job-destroying tax hikes. We must promote no-cost job creation, like opening new markets for our agriculture economy. We must reform the tax code to make it far simpler and less of a burden. We must lower energy costs by increasing American-made energy of all kinds, including more nuclear and hydropower.

We must defend our nation, secure our borders and stop illegal immigration. We must protect Social Security and Medicare for today's seniors and tomorrow's retirees.

This election presents a vital choice for America's future. We can't afford more of President Obama's government-knows-best approach. Americans deserve a more efficient, less intrusive government that spends less and serves better. America's future depends upon a commitment to freedom and opportunity where hard work is rewarded. I'm asking for your vote so we can get our nation back on track and ensure our children and grandchildren enjoy a secure and prosperous future.

Jamie Wheeler
(Prefers Republican Party)

Elected Experience: Elected to Precinct Committee Officer in 2010, unpaid position.

Other Professional Experience: Domestic Engineer 15yrs., Homeschool Mom, Tri-Cities Homeschool Support Group Coordinator for 10yrs., Property Management since 2003.

Education: Cheney High School Graduate, Spokane Community College 2yr. Clerical Certificate.

Community Service: 2003-2011 US Troop Care Packages, 2012 Operation Thank You Washington, Multiple Church Activities.

Statement: Jamie Wheeler is not a ladder climbing politician, but rather an American boldly exercising her Constitutional Right to run for office as the Founding Fathers had intended. She is Constitutionally Qualified Article 1 Section 2 US of the US Constitution. She is a dedicated wife, mother, mother-in-law and grandma whose concern for the future of America lead her to take this action.

Since 2006 Jamie has been an activist for the FairTax Bill, HR25. She is committed to give it a voice by cosponsoring it upon being elected. This bill is true tax reform and economic stimulus. It replaces the current income tax system with a national retail consumption tax on new products and services. It would mean Income, Payroll, Corporate and Alternative Minimum Taxes would all be 0%. The USA would become the #1 place in the world to locate a business. This tax reform would transfer the power from congress into the hands of We the People. Congress would no longer have direct access to your paychecks. Your paycheck is your most basic piece of private property.

Jamie would do all she could to restore and defend the Constitution. She is an avid supporter of term limits, the elimination of the EPA, Department of Education, Department of Energy and so many other areas of waste, fraud, abuse and taxation.

The original intent of the Constitution was to limit government. The best government is one closest to the individual citizen. It needs to be restated that government does not earn money but takes it from its citizens. America cannot spend its way out of debt. So now is the time to lead on economic solutions, individual liberty and Constitutional Restoration.

Education: No information submitted

Community Service: Volunteer Instructor -Institute on the Constitution, The Truth Project; Author and producer of The Constitution Minute radio broadcast

Statement: With a firm reliance on the God of our founders, I pledge to use this opportunity to support and defend the Constitution for the United States and the guarantees provided by it for the protection of our God-given rights as citizens of this nation.

As a middle-class dad and husband in work-boots with a great burden for the success of America, I have no vast or even modest fortune to protect or seek favor for other than American freedom and individual liberty for all of us and our descendants. My study for the last ten years has been of the Constitution and those who conceived it, and has given me an unshakable belief that the creation of this nation and its founding documents were superintended by divine Providence; that our establishment politicians have abandoned those principles which made us free, peaceable, and prosperous; that our current Congress has become a fundamental threat to American freedom, individual liberty and justice; that the path to the blessings of the Almighty for this nation are contained in the ancient wisdom and faith of our founders and the Natural law they used as the anchor of their nation building.

I am a "Constitutionist"- I do not believe that statute law, treaty, executive order, Act of Congress, or court ruling trumps the Constitution or the Natural law which the founders used to fashion it. Today's breathtaking federal encroachment into the sovereignty of the Union states and the people is mostly illegitimate and outside the delegated powers we the people gave it. I will be joining those in Congress who are committed to a restoration of Constitutionally limited government, and have a proper understanding of the ninth and tenth Amendments.

Education: Executive MBA University of Washington, BA Pensacola Christian College.

Community Service: Strong advocate for military families, veterans, farmers, small business owners, students, and families with special needs.

Statement: As a young girl growing up on my family's farm in Kettle Falls, I could never have imagined that one day I would have the opportunity to serve in the U.S. Congress. I have lived the American Dream. And since you first elected me in 2004, I have worked to be worthy of your trust and remain humbled by the responsibilities you have given me.

During the past eight years, I have fought on Capitol Hill for lower taxes to create jobs; championed good stewardship of our farms and forests; and stood strong for America's military and veterans. I have urged the use and development of American resources, including hydropower, to help us become energy independent.

On a personal note, I also became a wife and a mother, and these are my dearest and proudest accomplishments.

I believe the federal government is spending and borrowing too much. I voted against the $1 trillion "stimulus", and the $2 trillion health care law. I voted to reduce federal spending and get our fiscal house in order. I'm also a strong supporter of a balanced budget amendment to the Constitution.

I am working to make Congress more open and less influenced by special interests. We've eliminated earmarks and now require a public comment period before voting on any proposed law. I am working across the aisle to expand Fairchild Air Force Base, build a medical school in Spokane, complete the North-South freeway, and protect rural health care.

In the next two years, I hope to make bigger reductions to our budget deficit, help small businesses create jobs, and find more areas where the two parties can work together. I love Eastern Washington and America. I ask for your continued confidence and your vote.

Eric G. Arentz Jr.
(Prefers Independent Party)

Elected Experience: None so far but I'm hoping to change that.

Other Professional Experience: I am currently writing two books. One on National Energy policy and the other on the Political breakdown our country is currently experiencing.

Education: I graduated from American River College in General Education.

Community Service: No information submitted

Statement: Our political system is broken. Polls from earlier this year showed Congress with a historically low 10% (8% among Independents) approval rating. Meanwhile, there is a growing unease in our Nation. An undercurrent of fear that something has gone, Is going, terribly wrong. That the future is not as bright for our children as it was for previous generations. This fear is well founded and the breakdown in our political system is only the latest symptom.

At this point Voting for either a Democrat or a Republican is not going to Fix the breakdown in Washington. Ask yourself, has it previously? It is not too late to fix what ails this country. There are vast untapped resources among our population. We are still a wealthy Nation even if it doesn't feel like it at the moment. If we are going to change Congress, and thereby the direction of the Nation, than we need to elect Independent voices that are not part of either political machine.

My goals if elected would be to focus on repairing our local infrastructure and improving the education of our Nations children.

Some of my political beliefs: I believe in helping people reach for a better life while Not creating dependancies. I believe Women have the right to make their own decisions on their healthcare and the State has no business interfering. The only exception would be for Abortion. I think abortion should be legal but only up to 20 weeks. I believe that Education is the most Important task we have as a society. I believe we need to increase and sustain our spending on the Nations Infrastructure.

Bill Driscoll
(Prefers Republican Party)

Elected Experience: No information submitted

Other Professional Experience: U.S. Marine Corps Major, infantry officer and civil affairs team leader

Leader in the forest products field, including working for Weyerhaeuser in three divisions over much of his career. He has substantial experience exporting U.S. goods to Asia.

Education: BA in Economics from Bates College in Lewiston Maine; MBA in Management from Northwestern University; Graduated from U.S. Army Ranger School and U.S. Army Airborne School

Community Service: Bill and his wife Lisa are active in our community, volunteering with the Broadway Center, the Asia Pacific Cultural Center, the Tacoma Art Museum, the Metro Parks Foundation and the Tacoma Children's Museum.

Statement: Bill Driscoll is running for Congress because the career politicians have failed to solve America's problems. Bill's not a politician. He's Marine Corps veteran, a leader in the forest products field and a fiscal conservative.

18 years after leaving the Marine Corps, Bill volunteered to be recommissioned, serving combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. He volunteered because he saw the toll that repeated long deployments were taking on the men and women of our armed forces and he knew he could help. Every American sees the toll the national debt, partisan gridlock and the great recession are taking on our country. The same commitment to serve that led Bill to rejoin the Marines motivates him to serve in Congress. Bill has three priorities:

Jobs, the Economy and Schools. Jobs are created by people, not government. The current administration's fixation on big government solutions to the economy has failed. Bill believes that the best thing government can do for the economy is provide innovative and successful public schools.

Veterans and a Strong National Defense. Bill understands the importance of our military and will protect services to veterans and military families. He will ensure that America's armed forces remain strong, and able to defend our country from any threat.

Balancing the Federal Budget. Nothing poses a greater threat to our country than the failure of both parties to balance the federal budget and address the mounting national debt. This challenge will require non-politicians like Bill, who are able to work across party lines.

Bill and his wife Lisa live in Tacoma. They have two children, John Saul and Anna. Lisa is a professor at UW Tacoma. Bill enjoys reading history and hiking. For the first time in a generation we can have a fresh start in Congress. We can elect Bill Driscoll.

Elected Experience: None

Other Professional Experience: U.S. Navy - SSBN-634(Gold Crew), Nuclear Engineer, Strategic Weapons Officer, Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Technology Consultant, Programmer, founder and CEO of ICAN Software Corporation

Education: B.A. Business Administration (University of Washington), B.S. Accounting (Central Washington University), Naval Nuclear Power School, and lots of continuing education in the fields of accounting and technology over the years.

Community Service: Congregational elder and worship leader, prison/jail ministries, homeless ministry, service on boards of several not-for-profit organizations in Kitsap County. Volunteer speaking engagements at accounting and technology events around the country.

Statement: Years of experience in engineering, aquaculture, municipal government, accounting, and technology industries have prepared me to represent the diverse interests of our region. As a Navy veteran with submarine and shipyard experience, I'd have the most credibility discussing Keyport, Submarine Base Bangor, and the Naval Shipyard with Navy leadership.

Job growth requires less government, more liberty, strong property rights and a stable tax environment that is competitive with that of other nations. Our households have had to adjust their spending levels…so can the federal government.

The federal government currently borrows 40% of what it spends. Interest payments are almost 10% of the federal budget at today's low rates. If rates rise to normal historical rates, interest payments will bankrupt the federal government. Bankrupt governments historically raise taxes on everyone, seize or destroy savings, and cause jobs to quickly disappear.

We can change the course of our nation by balancing the budget in years rather than decades, and we can do so while honoring our commitments to the elderly and veterans.

To that end, we can't afford to spend hundreds of billions of dollars in foreign aid and maintain so many military bases around the world. Other nations must take responsibility for their own military needs. When we subsidize their defense, their economies lure more American jobs overseas. We must spend our defense dollars smarter on local bases here at home where it benefits our economy, not theirs. Let's bring our heroes home to their families… and bring back jobs.

I'll work to restore our Founding Fathers' vision of a nation of self-rule and limited government, a nation of peace and commerce, and a constitutional republic with a stable currency where individual liberties are protected. I humbly offer my time and talents to represent you honestly and honorably in Congress.

Education: Graduate Longmont High School, Colorado; Colorado State University B.S. Community Service: Significant investment in Fernhill Business District; Performed DOD Alaska/Washington/California Air Evacuation mission for 5 years; Performed Iraq Air Evacuation mission for 18 months

Statement: From New Amsterdam to Afghanistan, Brodhead's have fought for freedom and the American Dream. We stood with George Washington at Valley Forge. We stood with Abraham Lincoln at Appomattox. We fought in Mexico alongside Franklin Pierce and helped pass legislation that connected Manifest Destiny. We served this country throughout the Cold War, Vietnam, and Iraq.

At no time in our history have so many things converged at once on our American way of life. Over the next two decades, 3.6 million Baby Boomers will retire each year for full ride entitlements at a ratio of 2.5 workers to one recipient. Medicare and Medicaid costs will double, and then quadruple in short order. The current tax and entitlement structure is unsustainable. Americans will have to find solutions to serial $1.6 trillion annual deficits, quantitative easing 10% of GDP, printing money out of thin air, and borrowing 40 cents of every Federal dollar spent. We will have to deal with the Federal government's penchant for spending our Social Security Surplus, borrowing from China to honor Social Security IOUs, and then slipping the bill to our children. We will have to deal with International currency devaluation, one sided trade deals, and job losses due to offshoring. We have much to do.

Here are a few things that I would like to do to help right our course: Birth Right Citizenship Bill, raise Social Security payroll taxation from 6.2 to 7.5%, Hands off our Social Security Amendment, Reform Medicare cost sharing structure, Medicaid block grants, Education block grants, increase the military budget to 4% of GDP and retool America's air, land, sea, and space assets. Reduce our dependency on foreign oil by supporting new battery technologies and infrastructure etc. Reduce Federal government non mandatory spending to 2008 levels. That's just a start….www.BrodheadforCongress.info

Elected Experience: No information submitted

Other Professional Experience: I have served as a deputy prosecutor in Kitsap County and an assistant deputy prosecutor in Pierce County. I have owned and operated a private law office in Tacoma for the past 20 years. As a lawyer, I have represented many people throughout the 6th District and have successfully represented my clients in some of the highest courts in the country.

Education: I received my BA in economics from the University of Washington in 1980. I received my law degree, also from the University of Washington, in 1983.

Community Service: I have coached youth sports for the Peninsula Athletic Association.

Statement: I am running for Congress because the Federal Government stands in the way of the American Dream. Our economic difficulties are a direct result of policies adopted by Congress and the President. They continue to steal the ambitious spirit and freedom of our people through bailouts, stimulus and special favors which continue to pile on dangerous amounts of debt.

Our happiness and prosperity are in jeopardy, but this is not an unalterable course. America is the greatest country on earth and needs more leaders who can handle a fiscal fight. Rewarding Washington insiders and the well connected is not the American way. I oppose bailouts because they hurt the economy and infringe on our freedom. We cannot spend or regulate our way into prosperity.

At a young age, I learned the value of hard work and self-reliance. I grew up in Fife and graduated from Fife High School. As a young man I owned my own recycling business. I worked as a farm laborer, a factory worker and at a lumberyard prior to graduating from high school. In college I was elected a union shop steward. These experiences gave me the confidence I needed to succeed and strengthened my belief in the free market system.

As your congressman, I will take this entrepreneurial spirit to Washington and will work to ensure that future generations have the same opportunities to achieve their dreams as did the ones before them. I will make sure we keep our promises to those that serve in the military, including declaring wars constitutionally. I will also work to ensure we keep our promises to our seniors. It's time to restore constitutional and fiscal responsibility in Congress.

My campaign has been endorsed by the Republican Liberty Caucus, Clint Didier and State Representative Matt Shea, among many others.

Other Professional Experience: A Union Member of Retail and Grocery for Over 26 Years.

Education: A Degree in Accounting, and Computer Programming. Self Educated for Over 22 Years in Renewable Energy.

Community Service: none

Statement: I am running for Congress to promote green technology, jobs advance AIDS research and the development of efficient methods of transportation. We need fiscal responsibility.

Geothermal Power We have the technology today to make geothermal energy a practical reality. Energy from the earth can be used to power electrolysis machines that will split water into oxygen and hydrogen. The oxygen can be combined with natural gas to produce an oxy-fuel combustion. This will produce electricity without any harmful waste products. Hydrogen and Carbon Dioxide can be made into methanol and then converted into gasoline. This is both environmentally friendly and frees us from overseas oil. Biomass Energy We produce over 1.2 billion tons of non food biomass each year. This can be conver into over 12 million barrels of fuel daily using environmentally friendly geothermal power.

Run of River Power Hydroelectricity can be produce without harming fish runs. Run of the river power system allow us to generate power without the use of dams. Carbon Dioxide can be taken out of the atmosphere and combined with hydrogen from the water to make methanonl and then gasoline. This is carbon neutral and will produce jobs and clean energy.

Energy Efficient Vehicles Steam turbine electric engines technology can be used to build cars that get 54.5 MPG. This technology can also use the exhaust gases of military generators for addional power in Afghanistan to power generators that will use the maximum use of the fuel. This will reduce cost, and save both fuel and lives.

AIDS Vaccine The development and funding of an AIDS vaccine must be a priority. Ultra violet light can be used to kill the AIDS virus take out of white blood cells. The killed AIDS virus can be extrated and used to develop a vaccine.

Community Service: Chair, "Law Week in Schools" Statewide, WSBA. Leader, YMCA Guides, Scouts. Board, Civil Society International.

Statement: Excessive Debt, Unemployment, Spending and Taxes hold us down, not help us up. Year after year, we hear talk without real results.

Re-electing the same old incumbents won't fix this.

My opponent's had 24 years to lift these burdens and get Social Security and Medicare securely reformed - instead he's made them worse and nearly bankrupt. Our national debt is six times higher, to $139,000 /taxpayer. The best education is good and affordable -- instead, student debts soar. The best social program is a job - instead, total unemployment exceeds 20%. The economy and jobs stagnate with over-regulation, waste, and anti-business policies. Spending skyrockets. Massive bills pass unread. Tax system numbingly complex.

Had enough yet?

We need a representative to look beyond extreme partisanship and get results for all of us and common interests, not special interests for few at the cost of many. My political principles are nonpartisan and time-proven: Individual Freedom; Responsible, restrained government; Free Enterprise; and Ethics of Life, Liberty, Fair Treatment for All, and Accountability. I'll apply a common sense 'N.E.E.D.' test for legislation: Is it in our National interest? Efficient in cost? Effective in result? Dated to be measured, amended or ended?

I get results. As a Seattle resident continuously since 1976, business owner, and attorney successfully serving both plaintiff and defendant clients for over 30 years (and winning every jury trial, but one), I'm more in touch with our District, experienced in economic matters, understand different views, and bring a proven record of excellent results, with 'real world' skills in problem-solving, fact finding, judgment, and legal knowledge. I pledge to apply these skills, as an independent representative responsible to all of you, to help stop this continuing neglect and get us real results. Other Professional Experience: Dave served in the US Air Force Reserve (1971-1976). He joined the King County Sheriff's Office in 1972 and in 1998 became King County's first elected sheriff in 30 years.

Education: Concordia Lutheran College, AA

Community Service: Served on King County's Domestic Violence Council. Board of Directors for Special Olympics of Washington. Co-Chair of King County Methamphetamine Coalition. Former Member of King County Committee to End Homelessness. Co-Founder of King County Sheriff's Police Activities League. Youth coach and counselor. Two time Washington Medal of Valor Recipient. National Sheriff of the Year.

Statement: Leadership. As a public servant, my energy is focused on spurring our economy, ensuring our children have access to good schools, protecting our freedom to choose doctors, and defending the vulnerable. Too many families are suffering, finding their hope and budgets strained. Too often, government regulations and bloated budgets have held back the private sector. I will continue working to reform our tax code, cut spending, and reduce regulations in an effort to enhance private sector innovation.

Integrity. Character and integrity make us who we are. In tough times, it becomes all too easy to serve personal interests, forget the needs of neighbors, and toss integrity aside. I have always served our community, our state, and our nation with an optimistic spirit. I believe our best days are ahead, and America will continue to be the greatest nation, because we never surrender and we always pull together. We are free and must fight to remain free for our children and grandchildren.

Service. From the first day I put on my Air Force uniform until today, I have committed myself to service. While a sheriff's deputy, I saw the most humbling acts of service and selfless sacrifices. I have a servant's heart and want to make America even better for the next generation. Every day, I hope to earn your trust by serving with honesty and representing you with integrity.

Teamwork. I'm a pragmatic leader, believing it's more important to solve problems than claim credit or be trapped in partisanship. Whether running a small business, nursing the sick, tending an orchard, raising a family, or serving in the military, everyone wonders why our problems persist. With leadership founded on integrity, humble service, and teamwork, we will put these tough days behind us and turn our energy toward the next opportunities.

Education: Graduated Everett Area High School, Everett, PA; B.S. Psychology, University of Washington; Washington State Police Academy, Army Airborne School, Ranger School, and seminars relating to social issues and interpersonal skills.

Community Service: Keith has been serving his community his entire adult life, either as a soldier or as a police officer. Keith has received several leadership awards. Keith is a past member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. He has also helped coach Little League and junior wrestling.

Statement: Keith is running for Congress because government spending is out of control, the United States Constitution is being undermined, our borders are not secure, and our dependence on foreign energy compromises foreign policy issues.

Keith is a Christian, social conservative, and pro-life advocate. Keith is married and has four children. His oldest son is a cadet at West Point.

Keith supports a limited government that derives its powers from the people based on a system of laws that must be obeyed by elected officials. He maintains that the Second Amendment protects an individual's right to possess firearms and to use those arms for lawful purposes. Keith is an avid outdoorsman, spending several weeks afield every year.

Keith believes that this country needs to act in a fiscally conservative manner and say "No" to spending, "No" to debt ceiling increases, "No" to bailouts, and "No" to 'cap and trade' type legislation. Keith believes in protecting citizens' rights. He also believes that now is the time for people to elect Congressmen who have the courage to enact legislation that will close our borders to illegal immigration, allow for the immediate drilling and mining of energy resources in our own country, and retain a military force that can adequately protect the American people.

Keith is a man of honor and integrity who will not be intimidated or coerced. He has the courage to stand up and do the right thing. Keith has shown this courage as a soldier and police officer. He is a leader that others look to for guidance. Keith's word is his bond.

This is the year to return America to a country "of, by, and for the people". A vote for Keith Swank will help insure that. Thank you. God bless you. God bless America.

Elected Experience: 2010 WA-8 Republican Congressional candidate, finished second among Republicans in the primary

Other Professional Experience: Retired Navy Lieutenant Commander, Surface Warfare Officer, counterterrorism Watch Commander, Pacific Fleet; Army Chief Warrant Officer, Military Intelligence interrogation technician, Army Intelligence Center; USAF Sergeant, Intelligence Operations Specialist/SERE instructor, USAF Survival School

Education: Gonzaga University, B.A.; Gonzaga School of Law, Juris Doctor

Community Service: I've served as the Issaquah Republican Regional Chair. I've been a Big Brother, and ministered to the poor, the homeless, and nursing home residents. I'm a married fourth generation Washington resident with eight adult children. I home schooled for ten years. I'm a Christian.

Statement: I've assembled a superb prospective Congressional staff. Bills have already been drafted that I will introduce to quickly reduce or eliminate most taxes, significantly cut unemployment, end the fraudulent national debt, maintain entitlements, and rescue our military. We are in dire circumstances. The battle to save our nation will be long and hard. It will be won, in part, by you supporting and electing me.

Our Constitutional government is being dismantled. Most Congressional incumbents shamefully ignore or cause it, thereby disqualifying themselves for office. Our survival requires their replacement. The incumbent must not be reelected.

He voted against oil drilling in Alaska, increasing our gas prices. He voted against development of oil shale areas, again increasing our gas prices. He lobbied Congress for Obama to pass the Korea Trade Act, which is projected to cause the loss of 159,000 U.S. jobs.

He, along with four Washington State Democrats and Jesse Jackson, Jr., sponsored the Alpine Lakes Wilderness Act that would have taken 22,173 acres of private property away from district voters and given their land to the government. He also voted for the Omnibus Public Land Management Act to take 2 million acres of private property away from U.S. citizens and give their land to the government.

He voted to repeal Don't Ask Don't Tell, enshrining homosexuals in our military. He voted to allow Obama to indefinitely detain U.S. citizens, without our Constitutional rights, under the 2012 National Defense Authorization Act. He also voted for Cap and Trade, and TARP.

I would have voted oppositely on all the above, and will vote oppositely on similar legislation. Please go to my website for my extensive platform, and vote for Ernest Huber. Thank you.

Statement: Governments worldwide, including the United States, are out-of-control assuming too much risk, spending too much money, interfering with our lives, and damaging our economy, jobs, and businesses. These policies will not work for us, but politicians know that they can get elected by offering benefits they cannot pay for. We must repudiate them and return to the constitutional principles that have made this country great. You have a choice to make in this election. You can vote for more government, more poverty, and more control over your lives; or you can vote for freedom, dignity of the individual, and prosperity.

My program will save Social Security and Medicare while providing all the promised benefits; restore sound money, stop inflation which robs the middle class, pay off the national debt, provide full employment and bring back exported jobs and capital. No Bailouts.

We are on our way to becoming self-sufficient in energy. We can produce all the oil and gas that we need and stop importing oil. This has huge economic benefits including jobs. This economy depends on oil for transportation, land, air and sea, industry, and agriculture. We need $2.00 gasoline and diesel fuel again.

Our transportation systems are stagnant and have not improved for fifty years. Our roads are in gridlock but underutilized Progress in air and space has stopped. Our automobiles are magnificent but they go no faster. Our airplanes are stuck at the speed of sound. We went to the moon but have retreated to earth orbit. We can do better.

We need a strong military to protect our nation but do not need undeclared foreign wars which are not in our interest or wartime restrictions on our civil liberties.

As a small business owner, I have experienced firsthand the onerous taxes, fees and regulations that stifle growth and job creation. As a County Council Member, I wrote and implemented the county plan targeted at supporting and growing small businesses and keeping families in their homes. As a mayor, I wrote balanced budgets, reduced taxes, and increased services. I will take strategic thinking to Congress and lead the charge to revitalize our economy. As a physician and humanitarian, I am committed to ensuring health care is affordable and accessible for all citizens without the current mandates. As an educator and university president, I have witnessed the failings of our education system. I am committed to making education a national priority and will fight to build a 21st century education system. As a former Army General and combat veteran, when elected I will be the most senior military member of Congress. I am committed to leading the effort to preserve our defenses, provide for our troops, military families and ensure our veterans receive the support and respect they have earned.

We are perfectly placed to be a global leader in trade, innovation and to continue our vital role in America's defenses. We are a great nation, a symbol of freedom around the world. Our leaders are failing us. I am asking for your vote to restore effective leadership and responsible representation to Washington D.C. and continue my lifetime of service as your first Congressman from the 10th District.

Richard (Dick) Muri
(Prefers Republican Party)

Other Professional Experience: USAF Retired Lieutenant Colonel with 22-year military career, including 5 years as McChord Chief of Quality Management, Director of Airlift Operations, Incirlik Air Base, Turkey 1989-91 (Operations Desert Shield, Desert Storm, and Provide Comfort).

Community Service: Charter member, Kiwanis Club of Steilacoom; Past board member, Steilacoom Historical Museum Association; Breakfast Team Leader, St. John Bosco; Youth wrestling coach.

Statement: Dick Muri is a leader in local government, a retired Lt. Colonel and the clear choice to serve as our U.S. Representative for the new 10th District.

Where Congress has failed to work together, balance the budget or solve problems, Dick Muri has succeeded. As a member of the Pierce County Council Muri balanced nine county budgets, trimming wasteful spending and guaranteeing vital services were funded without raising taxes. As the Chair of the Performance Audit committee he brought real accountability to government. With proper leadership, Congress can do the same.

Dick Muri knows that Congress is dysfunctional, "I can't believe the nation that defeated communism and fascism can be destroyed by our inability to balance the federal budget. The simple truth is that Congress is choosing to fail." As our U.S. Representative Dick Muri will rebuild our economy, support a balanced budget, restore federalism and protect our natural environment.

While on the County Council, Muri supported a pro-jobs package of reforms that helped create jobs by making it easier for businesses to grow and prosper. Dick knows that only people create jobs, not big government.

Dick Muri will work to restore federalism, returning power to our state and local governments. Dick trusts local leaders to make decisions more than he trusts D.C. One of Dick's most important achievements on the County Council was to purchase more land for recreation and wildlife habitat. This respects private property and protects the environment.

When America faced the dangers of the Cold War, Dick Muri volunteered for the Air Force. A combat veteran, he flew as a navigator and later led one of the nation's largest airlifts. Dick and Mary Muri have been married for 33 years. They have four grown children and four grandchildren. They family attends St. John Bosco Catholic Church.
